Back in September, the building that I work in had a “tenant appreciation party,” where they fed us all a delicious catered lunch, had prize drawings, and made everyone take a water infuser emblazoned with the building’s logo on it. 

I mean don’t get me wrong, it’s an awesome as heck logo. I was just really surprised. But then, they really take care of that building. I have probably never worked in a place this nicely maintained. 

Anyway, I finally decided to use the infuser tonight because I FINALLY remembered to buy lemons the other day, and hot damn it’s amazing. Ice cold lemon water.

Thank you, building people. Thank you, best job ever. I still love you even though I worked for 10 hours today with only a 10 minute break to finish the 119 page package rush job for some of our brokers. 

…they’re going to start letting us have ‘wear nice jeans on fridays instead of dress slacks’ since everyone rocked so many socks last year. ;~; Not that I own any nice jeans but STILL… 

And they’ve started keeping the lounge stocked with yogurt and fruit and stuff so we can eat breakfast even though we’re all so busy. ;A;

I typed/wrote 1,400 words today, and looked up my focusbooster stats… since July, I have spent 33 hrs actively writing/revising Fishsticks. Crazy.

Productive day, even though I spent most of it being asleep and/or coughing. 

BACK TO WORK TOMORROW! They need me! There are many custom emails to be designed and coded!

Cold got much worse overnight; I now have no voice and my head is killing me… so! I’m going to wake Aaron up and send him off to work… and go back to bed.

Saw Star Wars and enjoyed it thoroughly. Now I can return to work tomorrow, unashamed. I also seem to have caught my brother’s cold, which has manifested in extreme sleepiness and vaguely itchy cotton in my throat. Not productive, but not terrible– yet. 

Finished the chapter of Fishsticks that I was working on earlier and am looking forward to moving on… writing set in hospitals always seems to drag. Probably because hospitals are horrible places to spend time in. 

Speaking of, my grandma is in the hospital with pneumonia now, so my mom won’t be coming back from Kansas quite yet. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. 🙁

Here’s an update on the spray painting project! I took the My Little Pony wedding castle that I had and spray painted it to look sorta like the Disneyland castle. I’ve never spray painted anything before, so there are lots of touch-ups that I need to do, obviously (esp on those flag poles)… but I think it’s a VAST improvement so far! 

There’s still a bunch of time before my desk is totally set up, anyway, but yeah! It’ll be great for all of my little toys to play on. 😀
