I recommend saving it to your computer so that you can view the two-page spreads.
The image links to the pdf on my tumblr page, but not on the dash I GUESS… so click on the text link instead.

The latest portfolio test went really well today. All of the titles/descs are in, the orders is just about settled, and I’ve almost figured out how to cut and fold it without screwing it up. I butchered the edges of the pages by using the wrong cutter in the end BUT I think that when I’m ready to go for real that this will be fantastic!
Did another portfolio test run today. Several of the prints are way too dark (expected), and I may have to come up with a different binding method because 9 pieces of paper is problematic (unexpected!) – and this is even without the heaver cover stock for the outside page! Yikes! Good thing I still have a little more than a week to figure this out.
I also need to be way more careful when cutting it… I got impatient (I was hurrying on my lunch break) and some of the pages were sliiiightly different sizes… Whooops.
I spent my lunch break doing a quick portfolio test on two different kinds of paper… I still have a lot of layout work to do and stuff, but Ahhh! ! ! I’m so excited that I’m shaking!
THE GRASS IS GREENER WHERE IT’S WATERED
A lot of illustrators suffer from the “grass is always greener” syndrome. We spend more time appreciating the work of others, and less time appreciating our own work. This is a common issue among most creatives. Why even bother writing a story or painting a picture when I can think of dozens of people who would do it better? My answer to that is simple, and something I only recently (and finally) accepted with my own work: just like our handwriting, no one can create exactly like we can. Our inherent individuality—coupled with years of training and growth—is what buoys our creative lives.
My new portfolio website is done! Check it out! 🙂
I’ll probably be rewriting bits of the bio here and there, and changing out portfolio pieces as clients approve recent designs. But I like it SO much better than my old site… sooo much better. 🙂
I’ve been working on my shiny new portfolio and this is an example of the layout that I’m using. Whatcha think!? 😀 I hope I’m not the only one that thinks it’s awesome.
