I woke up in the middle of the night thinking there was a mouse in our bedroom. It turns out that Hobbes was just trying to sneak into and nest inside of a box with packing paper.

I cleaned the bathroom very thoroughly yesterday and moved the litter boxes into the hallway closet after taking off the door. Benji and Tango were super helpful in engineering the new litterbox container, and Hobbes is very sad that he can’t sleep in the tub anymore.

Too bad, Hobbes. I am NOT going to get out of the shower and get litter stuck to my feet anymore!

All so cranky?

Well, that sort of depends…

Hobbes is extremely sensitive and thinks that everyone is picking on him all of the time. He can be very sweet, but any time he gets too much affection he starts biting anything his mouth can reach. Like, pet him and he’ll be purring and suddenly he starts biting the blanket like he doesn’t know how to deal with his feelings. He’s also the one that will smack the other cats out of misdirected anger, and hiss and screech even if the other cat just walked by.

Benji is very, very shy of new people, but generally very affectionate and calm. He loves to drape in my lap and not move for hours. He hates change, and prefers when Aaron and I are in the same room and on the same schedule. The vacuum cleaner will cause him to hide for hours at a time. He’s also the whiniest, and will loudly remind us when it’s time for such-and-such routine. Even if his food bowl is full, he will cry and cry and cry until we come check it, and then he’ll go back to eating. He’s also scared of spiders and will cry until we move them away from his food bowl.

Tango, on the other hand, is the friendliest cat that ever happened. He greets every new person at the door, purrs 24/7, chirps and mews and vibrates his tail. He’s stupidly smart and affectionate, loves to cuddle and headbump and beg for food. If it involves cheese, popcorn, cheetos, or french fries, he WILL try to take the food from you, right out of your hand or mouth. This usually involves a lot of screaming when you tell him no. He’s also really good at stealing money and hair ties, getting all squinty-eyed and reaching up to sneak a paw over the shiny of his choice and sliiiiiide it off of the table and into his clutched paw. He keeps his treasures in various hoardes, but usually under the bed.

Tango loves to tease Hobbes. He’ll sometimes wait until Hobbes is walking by to reach out and poke him, which makes Hobbes jump and screech and hiss like he’s dying. Then Benji lumbers out to chase Tango away like a good brother should, and Hobbes pouts somewhere up high.

So that is the story of the cats.

Okay, so… I can’t find my windshield screen, cereal boxes, animation cells, or valentines… but I DID find my awesome graphic novel poster that is on light but very durable masonite board. It’s not vintage (2013), but it would be great for holding signatures, especially since most of my TMNT posters are specific to movie/series.

Alternatively, I could try to find one of my graphic novel posters… or again, bring one of my copies of graphic novel #4 (my favorite!!!!!) and have him sign the last page, which is super adorable…

I think this poster is a good idea, though. I just need to find one of my silver markers.Â
