“I won’t make the same mistake.”

Oh hey look, it’s the premise of the Epic Conan Fanfic in a nutshell! Yes, friends, this is what Call of the Raven is all about.

I’m particularly fond of the pencil rendering in this. Cardstock and .5 mechanical pencils are my allies.

Prom Night (Detective Conan/Magic Kaitou fanfic)

Earlier, some asked me to post the stuff I was writing with Drunk!Hakuba, but that scene is… very much not ready to post, so here’s something else that I drafted today. I hope it’s… interesting? 🙂 I’ve kind of invented a LOT of material for Hakuba’s backstory, so I’m curious as to how he’ll come across to the rest of you.

Side note: When working on the Epic Conan Fanfic (Call of the Raven), CloverKite and I stick to a handful of main characters each, and share the extras. Sometimes, we end up with a scene that is between characters in our own roster, like this one between Hakuba and Akako, and we handle the scene on our own. Which is why I’m able to post this (and the fact that it doesn’t give away the main plotline at all, just hints at it).

Oh, and this is NSFW.

THAT SAID…. please enjoy! ^o^;

February 19th… Prom Night

“What are you doing, Sa-gu-ru?” Akako said his name slowly, emphasizing each piece like it was the punch line to a joke.

Hakuba looked toward her, wine bottle in hand, and offered a faint smile. He hated his first name, but Akako was technically his girlfriend and, thus, should have the right to speak to him so informally. Really, it wouldn’t have bothered him so much were it not for the mocking smile that she had when it left her lips. It reminded him of London. “Ah, just getting the wine. Shall I pour some for you?”

“If you must.” She was seated at the little chair by her black vanity, watching him in the mirror while she checked on her makeup.

They’d gone back to her home after the dance, mostly because Hakuba didn’t fancy another lecture from Baaya after the last time he brought one of his ‘conquests’ home with him, and Akako didn’t want to get a room at one of the local hotels. He poured them both a glass and brought one to her, crossing the room quietly.

Why was she so cold? They were a couple. It was the first relationship that he’d been in, officially, in ages. But perhaps that meant nothing to her. Actually, in the couple of months that they’d been a couple, they’d barely spent any time at all together… and while Hakuba told himself that he had no reason to worry, he had noticed that her flirtation with every other male in school had not decreased by any percentage.

But she’d gone to the prom with him. Held onto his arm. Pressed her gloved hand against his chest while talking to the other girls. Even kissed him when she’d been asked to dance by someone else. What did that mean?

Tonight, he decided, would determine just how serious she was about him. He’d broken his strict rule about not dating (or sleeping with) his classmates, but Baaya had encouraged him to look for alternatives to his reckless lifestyle. This was exactly what she’d told him to do.

“To us,” Hakuba said, lifting his glass with one hand for a toast, other hand still outstretched, offering hers.

Akako finally turned to look at him, smile quirked at the corners of her mouth. She took the glass, touched it to his, then laughed. “To us, indeed. Tell me, Sa-gu-ru, have you enjoyed being my little slave?”

He put the glass to his lips and breathed in the bouquet before tasting it. “Koizumi-san,” he began, breathing out a sigh. The only alternative name she’d given him was Mistress Akako, and while that was good and fine in the bedroom, he was not comfortable being undermined in public. Thus, there’d never been an occasion to use it, and he erred on the side of caution. For now. “There’s hardly been an opportunity to be your slave, so I unfortunately do not possess enough data to give you an accurate assessment in response.”

Laughing again, Akako took a drink of her wine and set the glass down hard on the vanity. “Oh, so you protest?” She got to her feet and walked toward him. “I suppose the privilege of standing and sitting next to me at school isn’t really to your fancy, is it?"

Hakuba stood where he was, watching her every move. The dress she wore hugged her form, heavy fabric draped neatly over her curves. She was beautiful, there was no doubt about that, but her tone was a warning. "I simply meant that I would like the opportunity to be your slave,” he hesitated a beat, “…Mistress Akako.”

She came to stand before him, fiery eyes focused on his, narrowing. She studied him, and he looked back, impassive, waiting. Then she broke away with a tittering laugh. “Oh, you boys are all so serious, aren’t you? You should be happy. Few get to see my bedroom… even less get to touch me. And you, Sa-gu-ru… get to do both. But only because you’ve been such a good boy.”

Her voice… hushed and slow, seduced him. The insulting words sealed it. It was fitting for him to be used by his ‘girlfriend’ in whatever way she wanted. Hakuba would let her. He watched as she turned away from him, gaze trailing over her body. He wanted more.

“I haven’t done much of anything for you, Mistress Akako… Pray tell, what can I do?”

“Oh, you’ve already done plenty.” Akako, in front of the mirror again, pulled the ruffled cap sleeve of her dress over one shoulder, turning her head to look at the other teenager to watch his expression as more of her body was exposed. “I think you’ve more than destroyed Kuroba-kun’s support among our circle, don’t you?”

Hakuba hesitated. What did any of this have to do with Kuroba-san?

Akako, peering back at him in the mirror, held a hand up to her lips to cover her laugh. “You still don’t get it.”

“I’m… not sure what you’re referring to, no.”

She pulled herself away from the vanity with an exaggerated sigh, turning back to Hakuba. “Kuroba-kun tells you that I’m a witch and that I’ve abused him… but you’ve just become my boyfriend. Of course you’re going to play the white knight to defend my honor.”

Hakuba stared through her as the details of events clicked into place in his head. “Then… you…”

“I played you like a little chess piece, Sa-gu-ru, and you preformed beautifully. He has no one now.”

“He wasn’t at the dance.” Hakuba swallowed at the realization. “He… hasn’t been himself at all lately, really.”

“And why would he?” Akako pressed herself against Hakuba, slipping one hand around his neck, the other down his arm, taking hold of his hand. This she pulled to her back, and over her backside, down to her thigh, around to the slit of her dress. “You’ve been under my spell and it’s worked perfectly.”

“Your… your spell?” Hakuba brows furrowed. “Koizumi-san, this isn’t some game. You can’t spread lies like that about… well, anyone! Why would you…? And does this mean that you really…” He lowered his voice. “You really raped him?!”

“Oh, I assure you that the ends justified the means… just like my using you."

Hakuba, shaking his head, pulled back from her. "No, Koiziumi-san… that is never acceptable. Never justified.”

“Hush.” Akako closed the distance between them and reached for his tie, slipping it out of its knot without hesitation. “You’re still under my spell, and after tonight… well, I won’t actually need you anymore, will I? Kaito Kuroba’s timeline will change, and that will, quite simply, be that.”

The detective stepped away again, until his back met the post of Akako’s canopy bed. She held onto him with his tie, and worked her way to his collar, unhooking each button with ease.

“Koizumi-san,” Hakuba said, lifting his hands defensively. He wouldn’t hurt her, he refused to, but… “I need to leave.”

“No, you don’t. You will stay right here until I’m done with you.” She leaned close to press her cheek against his, standing on tip toes to whisper in his ear. “Sa-gu-ru…”

“Stop saying that!”

“No.” She pulled back to smile at him, then tore the rest of his shirt open, only to gasp in disgust. “Really, Hakuba-kun? Really? A man of logic like you… a Christian?

Hakuba looked down at his chest, where the silver cross that he wore under his clothes swung from the girl’s advances. “…It’s none of your business. Let me go.”

“Get rid of it this instant!”

“No."

Hakuba pushed against her to free himself from the bed and get to the door, but she stopped him with a gloved hand curling around the cross, tearing it from him. She threw it to the ground and turned back to him, catching his hip with one hand, slipping the other to his ear, which she tugged toward her to pull him into a passionate kiss.

He broke from her, seething, and set his jaw tight. "Don’t touch me,” he hissed. “Don’t-”

But her hands found their way to his thighs and the buttons of his dress slacks. And she laughed. “You’re mine… and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

Hakuba stared at her, mouth agape in surprised in her actions and his own anger. “Koizumi-san…”

She wanted him. She’d done… terrible… things.. She was cruel. And yet…

Her hands found his again, once she’d freed him of his clothing, and pulled them to her breasts. She pressed her lips against his ear again, free hands exploring his legs. “How will you serve your master, Sa-gu-ru?”

Hakuba took her shoulders and turned her, pushing her down onto the bed. There were no words that he could think of to possibly describe the turmoil in his head or in his heart. Just bitter loathing for her, for himself. But he let that go, pushing it into the back of his mind so that he could lose himself to the warmth and heated, violent passion, fueled by that hatred. And all the while, she laughed.

Sometime later, with Hakuba exhausted and withdrawn, lying in her arms, Akako stroked his hair.

“You and I,” she spoke softly to him, amusement edging each word. “…we’re not so different. Creatures of the underworld. Disgusting, selfish, cruel.”

Hakuba had no response. He closed his eyes.

“And of course, now that prom is over, I’m dumping you… just so we’re clear.”

Hakuba sighed. “…certainly."

"I don’t love you, and I never will.” Akako turned her head to look at him, curiously. “You know that.  Just as I know that you will never learn to love. It’s not meant for us. All we have are these brief, senseless moments, giving into carnal desire..”

Hakuba didn’t reply. She was right.

So why do we try?

CONAN SUNDAY~ me and Conan because yeah.

I scanned a million Conan sketches today, no lie. So updates will be better and more consistent. Also, I’mma post a fanfic snippet on my other account tonight, so watch for that… it’s about Hakuba!

we must have been tired

so

over the weekend, cloverkite and I came up with like… 15 new non-serial ideas for our AU conan canon (we were working the con circuit, you know, and can only take so many ponies before we get ponied out) and..

and then

we dyed Conan’s hair and cut it and gave him a new name so he could go.. under cover.. under.. cover.

and it didn’t even occur to me until today that this is kind of weird.

…and yet I can’t stop drawing him. :I

Here is a small part of a silly drawing I made for Cloverkite today called ‘how to go undercover’. My drawing mojo is gone (used up at the convention), and I have lotsa stuff to do before I can let myself scan all of my saved up Conan drawings. ;-; sorry.

HAPPY CONAN SUNDAY ANYWAY! <3
