I like to think Shinichi’s just better at hiding/more shy about his crush on Heiji

but Heiji still think Shinichi doesn’t like him back and it makes him sad when he’s alone

Heiji spend a little while with Shinichi but of course Ran’s there two (and maybe Kazuha) and he’s all happy when he’s with Shinichi but when he sees Shinichi and Ran together he can’t help but feel jealous.

When he goes home he gets really depressed because he wants Shinichi to be his but he also wants Shinichi to be happy and figures he’s happy with Ran. So he just feels he has to deal with it and accept that he’ll never be able to be with Shinichi.

And then Shinichi calls him to see that he got home all right ‘n’ stuff and he has to pretend everything is okay.
