Ever been to Vegas? Yeah! Several times. Though I’ve never been to any Vegas shows. Or stayed in any swanky hotels. Or pretty much done anything classically Vegas except for eaten at a couple buffets and walking the strip once (which was miserable). I’m always driving through or going to anime conventions.

Favorite pair of shoes?: I only have two pairs of shoes… my nike sneakers and my dress shoes for work. Between those, I guess it’s the sneaks? :/ I really like flip flops, but they’re terrible for my dry skin, so I don’t own any anymore.

Favorite fruit?: hmmm… bananas

Nicknames: Gab, Gabapple, Gabbins, Gabs, Gabbers, etc. etc.. all of the ‘Gab’ names you can think of, really. I am also often called Conan, Hakuba, Haru, Shu… 🙂 I suspect that I may end up adding Viktor or Phichit to this list eventually, but Sam was my official nickname in jr high.

Height: 5′6″
Orientation: Demi like woah.
Ethnicity: White like wonder bread. 😐 Though, rumor has it that there is a tiny sliver of Native American in the family tree. It just wasn’t exactly ~*~ kosher ~*~ so there aren’t detailed records.

10) Favorite place I’ve been to: This is hard. On the one hand, Disneyland. On the other hand: FFFFFFRIGGIN ENGLAND. AAAAAAAAAAAAAHH. It was so amazing!

11) Currently studying/working in: Commercial Real Estate, of all things! Doing graphic design. It’s so much fun!

13) What made you choose your url: ‘Gab’ is taken everywhere, but ‘gabapple’ isn’t. It comes from “Gab app/web/wiz” from my days as a mod on a Pokemon roleplaying MUSH.

14) Are there people from this site you would like to meet: Yeah!!! That would be awesome, and one of the best parts about going to conventions. I love meeting fans and making new friends!!!

15) Will you talk to classmate in public? When I see my coworkers out in the wild, I always kind of panic, but they’re all so great. I love talking to them!

16) Last book you read: Hmmm… Stephen King’s The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, which is a collection of short stories. I’m currently reading Hook’s Revenge by Heidi Schulz, which is awesome!

17) Favorite tv show: That’s hard. I never watch TV live, just binge watch on netflix/dvd/whatever. Right now, we’re rewatching Pokemon, so I’m digging that a lot. I loved Stranger Things, and watched Lady Dynamite recently, which was also great… Scream Queens was fantastic, as was American Horror Story, and I love The Worst Cooks in America… IDK… Super 4?

18) What do you want to be when you grow up: A published author/illustrator who does book tours! And also works as a graphic designer at a commercial real estate firm, because I don’t expect to become the next JK Rowling…

20) Books or movies: JurASSIC PARK. TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES. Black Beauty. Ender’s Game. 101 Dalmatians. You don’t even know if I’m talking about books or movies! !! It could be both!!!

Oh wait are they asking me to choose between them? Because I don’t think that’s a fair question. I like it best when they’re companions. Movies are my favorite, but a book does a lot of things that a movie cannot, and movies do a lot of things that a book cannot… as evidenced by my above answer there.

When you have a successful book and movie, you get the best of both worlds. It doesn’t matter if the movie is an exact replica of the book so long as it captures the spirit of the story; so long as it’s faithful to the heart of what really matters. If a story is really timeless, it can endure in different languages and retellings, adapting and morphing, bending, folding, changing here and there and still be in tact in essence. So it’s okay if the movie is different, as long as the director/script writer/etc understand said essence.

Then you can get that same feeling while getting multiple interpretations of the story, and better understand it, taking it in even more deeply…!

Anyway what was I saying? Oh right.

18. Who would you really like to just punch in the face?

Oh gosh, I think you know exactly who I’d like to punch in the face. There are actually SEVERAL candidates, but you know the #1 choice. Not that I would EVER actually hit someone, but…

22. Do you have a secret talent? If yes, what is it?

I uh… I don’t actually know. I tend to talk a lot, so you all know that I can cook, sing, draw, write, that I’m a decent graphic designer, novice photographer, voiceovers, ‘read’ people, etc… I don’t think that there’s really much else to me. Uhm. I’m good with animals…??? Wait I think I’ve talked about that before, too.

I GUESS I DON’T REALLY HAVE SECRETS AND/OR TALENTS THAT ARE SECRET.

1. Do you ever doubt the existence of others than you?

Yeah, actually… once in a while. Which is always a weird feeling. It usually happens when I’m super stressed out and will wake up in the middle of the night and it’s just… EXISTENTIAL CRISIS TIME!!!

Yeah! I used to when I was kid all the time. I think the last time I made one was a couple of years ago… and it was tiny.

My dad dying, but only if that meant he would get to come back. Otherwise, maybe… hmm… IDK, a lot of my horrible experiences taught me valuable lessons. Like not putting up with people who are going to be demanding jackasses with unrealistic expectations.

45. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would be much thinner. Not like, super thin… but like “I could buy jeans at walmart if I needed to instead of online or at a plus size specialty store” thinner. I would love to be a size 12-16… anywhere in there.

I drew a werewolf on the train last night. Not sure what happened to it…

25. You just found $100! How are you going to spend it?

Food, probably. Sushi. Mm. With Aaron, of course. Otherwise, I’ll buy a bunch of art supplies that I may or may not use.

26. You just got a free plane ticket to anywhere in the world, but you have to leave immediately. Where are you going to go?

I don’t have any money until tomorrow, so I guess I should go somewhere with family… like Seattle or Missouri… so that I don’t starve to death. If I had money, though, I’d probably go to… uh… London? IDK. I’m too fat to enjoy Disneyland right now. :/ Otherwise I’d choose THAT in a heartbeat!

27. An angel appears out of Heaven and offers you a lifetime supply of the alcoholic beverage of your choice. “Be brand-specific” it says. Man! What are you gonna say about that? Even if you don’t drink booze there’s something you can figure out… so what’s it gonna be?

Mike’s Hard Lemonade, obviously. Mostly because I can’t remember what that cider I had in London was called.

“Everyone better clean up their own damn messes.”

I’m torn between ‘dammit’ and the f-word. Which I can’t even write out, so you can probably guess how often I say it.

30. Your house is on fire, holy shit! You have just enough time to run in there and grab ONE inanimate object. Don’t worry, your loved ones and pets have already made it out safely. So what’s the one thing you’re going to save from that blazing inferno?

Laptop. It has all of my Dangerous Cute print-res files on it. Though, I guess we have crashplan now… so that stuff would be safe… I GUESS I should be responsible and get our binder of important legal documents- birth certificates, marriage certificate, tax information… kind of important, yeah.

2) Have you ever had a crush on a teacher?

Sort of. Probably. Though it was more of a SQUISH than a crush. Like “holy crap this person is amazing and the best and I just want to BE THEIR FRIEND FOREVER” thing. I have never wanted to, like, KISS a teacher or anything like that.

80) Are there any causes you strongly believe in?

Yeah? Yeah… but I haven’t been terribly good at being actively involved in anything. I donate to charities… and I try to recycle a lot… and not waste stuff… I guess I have more actual Opinions than doing anything useful. 😐

Hopefully I can change that some day. Just have to figure out a way to contribute that is really helpful. Probably donating lots of money some day to something. LIKE HOMELESS PETS. And adopting moRE ANIMALS. Or writing a book about an issue (like cancer!) and donating the proceeds to fund research! Spreading awareness?

72) Have you ever been in a physical fight?

No. Well, sort of no. I’ve slapped someone before (but they definitely deserved it), and I HAVE BEEN HURT BEFORE like a “friend” PUNCHED ME IN THE FACE ONCE and there were other times where I’ve been bullied and pushed around… but I am just not a fighter type. I am a pacifist.
