We’re thrilled to welcome our first Guest Author, @gabapple! Best known for her intricate odysseys Never Look Away and The Vitya Diaries, Gab has been weaving fantasy elements and folklore into canon from the very beginning. She doesn’t take shortcuts, preferring paths that are unexplored and treacherous for the heart, keeping us on our toes. We can’t wait to learn more about her mysterious plans for the zine.

Nope. Girl 2 saw that Girl 1′s absolutely accurate analysis was being shut down just because it wasn’t stated in an intellectual way (in spite of its validity). So Girl 2 reinforced Girl 1′s opinions in solidarity and made sure that it was absolutely clear that Girl 1 was factually correct. WITHOUT taking credit for her observations (”kim is right” instead of “Actually, kim”)

If you read thirty pages of a book and hate it, that’s a good analysis. Girl 1 literally said, “It sucked for these reasons, and I only got through 30 pages.” She was absolutely paying attention and trying to get it. But if all you get is a headache, fuck that book.
Chapter 27 of Never Look Away is currently at 21,000 words and counting, with 7 to-dos remaining, plus beta and revision… I’ve been at a hotel working on it all weekend, and will keep at it as I’m able to between zine projects and my full-time job. I’m REALLY hoping we can post it this week!
In the meantime, have you read Vitya Diaries? It’s NLA canon and supplementary to the fic. While it’s not necessary to enjoy NLA, it does add to our Viktor’s backstory, and is currently 88,000 words to enjoy! You can find it here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/11799600/chapters/26615346
