Boss liked it! In fact, everyone did! Yay I’m still nervous but very excited for tomorrow!

In two months, I will have reached my fourth year as an active duty sailor. And two years after that, I have made the decision to return to the civilian world to pursue an education in animation and career thereafter. As much as my service has helped me, it is not where my heart ultimately lies. I only got one chance at this life thing, so I’d love to use it to become a better visual storyteller and share stories with anyone wanting to listen.

I am very fortunate that by the time I leave active duty, I will be free of my debts and a solid savings stash to support upwards to a year of unemployment. I would like finally go to art school with a focused mind, and even though the Navy will cover a majority of the cost, there is still a good chunk of tuition left for me to cover.

So, I would like Monster’s Garden readers to know that in addition to supporting the comic, the Patreon will be supporting this goal. Two years may seem a ways off, but it’s also closer than you think.

I still cannot offer more than early previews for patrons, (I’m hoping I can add print copies and Monster’s Garden postcards from around the world while I am on deployment to patron rewards down the road.) but once I’m a civilian again, I should be able to do real patron tiers.

There’s absolutely no obligation to pledge, as Monster’s Garden will continue to be free to read for everyone. This is just another way to support the comic you love. Thank you so much for your time and readership.

I’m so brain fried after everything (work has been SUPER busy!) that all I’m capable of doing is lying here on the couch, watching cams of Disneyland rides on youtube with my little brother.

This is actually really fun and relaxing…

My mom really liked this little robot, so I scanned him for everyone’s enjoyment. Pretty impressed that my scanner picked it up so well… it normally chews art to pieces.
