Oh you know, the usual way…
- the full length trailer will include a misleading or excluded scene from the final version of the movie
- something in the movie will surely blow up (bonus points if there’s bombs involved)
- Ran will either have a flashback of a time with Shin’ichi or scream out his name at some point
- Conan will either have something new to his gadget arsenal which we’ll likely never see again or use a skill the others previously were unaware he could do
- The laws of physics will be ignored as per the usual
- The status quo will remain (i.e. nothing will change as the result of this movie so Okiya’s true identity shall remain as it is in the manga: unknown to others outside of Okiya and Conan)
- A helicopter is bound to appear in the movie at some point
- Haibara will try to talk Conan out of doing something stupid or remark that he is doing something crazy again
- The Detective Boys will have to suffer another Agasa quiz (bonus points if Sera is the one who gives the quiz this time)
- Akai himself will get maybe two minutes of screentime told via flashback
- Characters other than Conan and Sera will likely not get to do much or have much screentime
here’s a fun drinking game:
take a shot every time conan says he learned something from the tv
bonus: take another shot every time he says he learned how to do something in Hawaii, or that Shinichi-nii-chan told him.

For those of you that only follow me here on Tumblr, I’ve set up a Patreon page for The Dawn Chapel, so that I can get back to work on it in a regular fashion. Doing fully-watercolored pages like these is pretty time-consuming, and the short short version of the pitch is that it would be much easier for me to keep the comic going if it earned me an income proportional to the time spent on it.
So if you derive value from the comic and you feel that it’s worth patronizing, maybe consider pledging your support. You’ll be supporting a creator-owned comic, and helping us live in a world where our entertainment isn’t the sole province of massmarket media properties, but that there’s also room for stories crafted by artists who care about what they’re making, and care about the people reading them.
And if you aren’t able to at this time, I’m glad you’re reading anyway. Knowing that people enjoy the stories I tell is very gratifying to me on its own, and I hope to be able to keep doing it for a long time.
