Srsly. Repressing emotions, not being allowed to feel, really messes people up. Emotions are natural. They’re chemical reactions that help us deal with stuff. They are real and valid and important. Not that you shouldn’t control your emotions – you do need to deal with them and react reasonably enough – but they are okay to feel.
