At first I was like haha Conan is kicking Heiji’s butt at chess.
And then I realized. There is no way it is Conan’s turn right now. He must have just played. And assuming that Heiji = black king, Conan = white king, and Ran = white queen, this is not a winning move for Conan, or anything approaching it. In fact, he has the pieces for an easy checkmate right now, but instead he’s caused a stalemate. One of two conclusions can be made from this: 1) Conan deliberately tied with Heiji instead of checkmating him or 2) Conan can’t play endgames for shit.
I love the idea of it being a deliberate tie. :3! adorable
