Silent As Stars

My dad died one year ago today after a three year fight with cancer. I think about him every single day.
I wonder how often Simba snuck off from Timon and Pumbaa in the middle of the night to stand on that cliff face, wishing he were home… looking for his father among the stars…. struggling with that pain and overwhelming feeling of being lost in an endless night.
Home is an empty dream, lost to the night. Father, I feel so alone.

…this would be why Aaron always puts cold drink cans against my face. I’ll be sitting there cringing, KNOWING that it’s coming, and he’ll have this evil grin. Because he knows that I think it’s cute.

Jessica Rabbit… as a rabbit!!!
I finally got approval to post this… I’ve been sitting on it for WEEKS.
This was requested by the staff at Confuzzled, a furry con over in the UK! I guess they’ve turned it into a GIGANTIC banner that everyone can go see in the lobby (?!) – I wish I could be there to see it in person, myself!
I think it’s going to be auctioned off for charity at the end of the con.

Their theme this year was Hollywood, and I was totally all over the idea of drawing Jessica Rabbit as a rabbit. OMG. Best project ever, even though it was kind of a beast. Had to paint it in two halves because my computer could not handle the file size. 🙂

I drew the first two panels and was trying to figure out some kind of snarky thing that evilkitty could say on her way out and then the HIPSTER OWL SHOWED UP OUT OF NO WHERE
