Hattori winced at Hakuba\u2019s sounds of pain. He bit his lip, just to keep from whining, hating that he was hurting him. He closed his eyes, gently adjusting the other in his hold just enough so he didn\u2019t slip and then headed towards the door. He\u2019d left it open, which if someone were to come around would have seen him, but he was thankful that it was. The less jostling he had to do with the teen in his arms, the better.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018m gunna ge\u2019 ya outta here, okay?\u201d Hattori kept his voice calm and as soothing as he could. \u201cI know it hur\u2019s, \u2018m sorry, there\u2019s nothin\u2019 I can do \u2018bou\u2019 tha\u2019 righ\u2019 now.\u201d He peeked down the hallway before retracing the steps he\u2019d taken to get to the room, keeping himself as quiet as he could. \u201cI need ya ta stay quie\u2019 though, okay? If someones has come back, we dun wan\u2019 them ta find us, so try as hard as ya can.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“I’m…” Hakuba managed to breathe out the words, wincing as blood slipped from his lips to splatter against the floor. He was so tired. So very exhausted. “…try… ing.” \u00a0The words came with a bubble of crimson and Hakuba closed his eyes again, shuddering with every exhale.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He would do all that he could to hold back the sounds that tore at his parched throat, but there was only so much he could do as his body twinged and ached, every single step of the way.\u00a0<\/p>\n
