She really wanted to help them catch the real murder. She doubted\u00a0they would believe her if she told them about source of her information. The detective earlier kept asking her about the source of her information, but she couldn\u2019t tell him that her source were a bunch of dead people.<\/p>\n

Alice waited for the detective to come back. Two minutes later,He came back, but he wasn\u2019t alone. He was accompanied by a teenage boy. He looked to be same age\u00a0as her<\/span>\u00a0or maybe a little older. \u00a0Were detectives usually this young or he was just an\u00a0exception? She had a feeling it was the latter.<\/p>\n

She nodded at his greeting and hesitated before shaking his hand. She wasn\u2019t in the mood to return the smile beside she wasn\u2019t the most\u00a0sociable\u00a0person.<\/p>\n

\u201d No, thanks.\u201d She responded with a sigh.Unlike the teenage boy her accent was quite different. It clearly gave away that she was an American.<\/p>\n

She glanced at her previous\u00a0interrogator\u00a0with a frown. Couldn\u2019t he just let her go? At first she denied being the mysterious\u00a0informal\u00a0but \u00a0unfortunately\u00a0they had a very clear recording of her voice. She kept trying to\u00a0dodge\u00a0the questions\u00a0until\u00a0she decided to remain\u00a0silent\u00a0altogether.<\/p>\n

\u201d \u00a0I already said what I know. \u201d Her voice was tired. \u201d \u00a0my source wish to remain\u00a0anonymous\u00a0and I would like to keep that way.\u201d Her source was already six feet under so it would be of no use to them.<\/p>\n

She seemed too sure of herself for a murder suspect. She had extra information that she decided to keep hidden from the police. It would only serve to\u00a0incriminate\u00a0her.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She knew how long these corpses were buried. The victims were killed one month ago. She had a pretty solid alibi\u00a0\u00a0so she didn\u2019t feel nervous. One month ago, she was half way across the world and she doubted they could incriminate her with such an alibi. She will just have to\u00a0wait\u00a0until they discover the time of death of victims.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Hm,” was all that Hakuba said at first before taking a seat on the other side of the desk. He looked to his accompanying officers, brows furrowing, then looked back at the girl in question. “Perhaps I could have a moment or two alone with her? Just to get things calmed a bit…”<\/p>\n

The officers rolled their eyes, but what else could they do? The language barrier had everyone in tatters, and if anyone was able to get a motive out of a foreigner, it’d be that damned blond.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hakuba waited for them to leave before turning his attention back to the girl and the paperwork in front of him. “Apologies for that, miss… Sometimes things just get lost in translation, and… anyway, if you could just humor me and start from the beginning, it’d be greatly appreciated, and then we can get you out of here and on your way. I understand you must be very frustrated and tired by now, but please believe that I am here to\u00a0help<\/em> you. All right?”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
