Not far away from the door stood a silver Aston Martin DB5 and the person having knocked was clad in a black leather shoes, a black suit with an off white shirt and a blue tie, he had light skin and blue eyes were hidden behind a pair of small, silver rimmed glasses. The only thing that never seemed to change about Kaito was his wild mess of dark brown hair. Otherwise he gave off an air of serene professionalism.

“Sir,” he started off in a well-practiced British accent, as soon as the door opened, “I am afraid that Q is not available as of this week, so I have taken the liberty of preparing your car. May I introduce myself?” He took to a quick bow, although not in the distinctly Japanese fashion. “I’m generally referred to as K. And please, I’d appreciate if there aren’t any remarks of kid towards me, I am older than I look.” A very, very quick smirk crossed his face before he looked perfectly composed again.

“As I began with, I took the liberty to add a few advantages to your current car. And if you would be willing, we can go and put them to a test. I assume you have a suit ready as well, because it has been arranged that we stop on our way to pick up your new assignment.” He looked at him as if this setting was perfectly normal and perfectly real. Then again… it really gave it an odd sense of realism because this actually was a rather large mansion with some British influences. The only thing missing now was a Bondgirl peeking around the door, clad in sinfully thin silk robes.

Oh, this was going to be such a fun day, without the stupid generic chocolate and roses, he would have felt awkward for doing that – he’d never taken to it, forgot about it and wondered why he suddenly got chocolate presents and… no. This however… was his way of celebrating Valentine’s at least this year.

To say that Hakuba had been expecting it was a bit of an overstatement, though he really hadn’t foreseen all of the elaborate planning that had gone into it. Though, as he followed Kaito with a somewhat startled expression, he quickly began to realize that there was no way of knowing just how much of what he’d said was real at all; Kaito was good with acting, especially improv, and flights of fantasy were nothing new for the supposedly-not-a-thief.

All the detective could really do was shrug at first, deciding to trust him and go along with whatever was planned or imagined. Fortunately, Hakuba wasn’t that bad at coming up with material on the fly, either.

“Oh, I believe that I have something set aside, yes…” he responded casually, slipping into the act as he reached inside is suit jacket and pulled out a pair of dark shade sunglasses. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, K…” he said, slipping the glasses into place, small grin turning into a charmingly smug smirk.

“You may refer to me as Bond. Saguru James Hakuba Bond."

A bouquet of white and red roses are placed upon the detective’s table accompanied by the presence of tea and chocolate, both imported from Paris. A note is tied to the bouquet saying, “Enjoy your Valentines Haku-chan~ You’re also welcome to stop by the host club today! Passez une bonne journée Monsieur Cool-Prince~” the sender was probably obvious by now.

Of course it was obvious – no one but Suoh Tamaki would be so obnoxiously obvious and sweet at the same time. Rolling his eyes, Hakuba looked over the gifts with a small, but content smile, then set them aside so that he could get ready to drop by the aforementioned club. Although he would be officially giving the Host King a return gift on White Day, he didn’t see any harm in stopping by with some extra treats for his ridiculous friends at Ouran in the meantime.

The box was surreptitiously slipped onto Hakuba’s desk while he was turned away for a moment. It was small, wrapped in shiny paper, with a note taped to it. “I know you could afford to buy a lot more of this for yourself, but it’s the thought that counts, right?” Inside is a small package of a more expensive chocolate. On the bottom is another message: “Though if you would prefer something else, just ask.”

It’s certainly the thought that counts, and he’s very touched by the gesture. True, he could buy his own chocolates, but they wouldn’t be something picked out of care from someone else, now, would they?

After reading the note, Hakuba carefully peeled back the wrapping paper until he was able to sneak into the box and take a piece to nibble on during class, hiding the rest in his bag for later.

There would definitely be a White Day gift in Kuroba Kaito’s future.

Yes, it’s the cliche, but the thief can’t help but to leave a red rose and a box of chocolates for the detective. At least you can’t say it’s /completely/ taking the commercial point, since the chocolate was done by himself, and gem molded rather than a heart or such, and has a strawberry filling in the very center.

“Ahhh! How very fitting from the thief. I hope he doesn’t expect me to give this back to him… though I’ll be sure to get something for him for White Day…”

Nervously, Ran swept a strand of hair from her face. She held a package wrapped in red paper, tied with a silver bow. Within the box she had placed the homemade chocolate she’d made the night before. Taking a deep breath, she handed the box to the Detective. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

“Ran… Thank you very much.” He accepted the box with both hands, and bent over to place a kiss on her cheek first, then her lips. Soft, careful, sweet. “Happy Valentine’s to you, too, darling. Now, you’ll get your return gift from me on White Day, but I didn’t want you to be without today, so…"

He transferred the box to he one hand, then dug in his suit jacket pocket with the other, and offered a tiny, plush unicorn. "It’ll make more sense, later. Shall we go to dinner now~?”
