KID crept up closer and closer, noting the tie on the ground. Strange… Then again, he was a much smaller feline overall. Probably not considered a threat by this lion.

He sat by the lion. He yawned. So, what now? The smell the lion had was familiar, and something about him was calming. The eyes and odd mane were also offputting.

…odd mane? It was amazingly curly and soft and gorgeous. Not odd at all. Pft.  Hakuba looked up at the snow leopard, relaxed and just laying there… the laziest lion that ever was (probably not true). He stretched out a paw, because the overly lazy lion was still overly thinking and fretting (being Hakuba after all), and this new feline also seemed familiar. Too familiar.

phantom-thief-kid said: KID, meanwhile, was patrolling about in his new form, slinking around. Seeing a lion, though, out and in a field of grass did confuse him. He carefully crept up to get a closer look.

Upon hearing the approaching snow leopard, Hakuba lazily looked over, then went back to resting. Big scary lions aren’t afraid of anything right? Plus… stomach… so full of grass…

“Relax, Hakuba. It will be okay. If need be, I could mimic you and make it look like you went on a trip or another and will be away for how long you’re stuck like this.”

If the goat could, he might have made a face much like this:

But since he was a goat, he continued to look as he had been, only with a tilt of his head and ears perking forward.

He did not really want KID living in his house and being in his bedroom unattended. There were secrets there. Lots of secrets. But then, KID said that he could talk about going away… and he did, often, leave for a couple of days for case work…

So the goat nodded and frowned as best as a goat can.

phantom-thief-kid:

“Aww, thank you, Hakuba.” He continued scratching. “How’s your family gonna take you as a goat, though?“ A few plans in the back of KID’s mind started forming, just in case.

Hakubaaa had no answer for this question. It was a troubling mystery indeed. His father was not likely to be accepting of a goat in the house, though his mum may find it charming… perhaps because his father would not appreciate it.

The goat thus hung his head in shame and dug at the ground with a hoof, fretting as per the norm.

“That wouldn’t surprise me at all.”

“Exactly! Even as a goat I have a high standard of living!”

phantom-thief-kid:

“That is the goal, yes.” KID grinned even more.

“Maybe. Maybe not…" Okay, he was being a bit of a tease, but anticipation was a fun part of this little dance they did. “So, where shall we go? I cannot read minds.”

Anticipation fun. Right. Of course. “The vending machine right outside the industrial district- next to the building with the giant poster of a purple alpaca."

…wait, what?

“Wherever you wish. I was thinking of taking you to a nice place I visit on occasion, but it’s a surprise until we get there where it is.” KID, meanwhile, was feeling especially impish tonight.

“So I’m to… come up with a separate place for us to go, first… and then eventually end up in the place that you desire?” Hakuba wasn’t sure what kind of clever trick KID was playing on him, but he hoped that it was a deviously intimate one. “Somewhere like… a roof top? Or a cafe? Tea?” A pause. “Or perhaps the convenience store for some… caramel?”

“You’re rather flustered, aren’t you?” KID had a customary grin on his face. So much fun to be had.

“…Perhaps.”  Hakuba attempted to play it cool, but that was incredibly difficult. Because the entire day had been difficult. No end to the frustrations from every avenue. He cleared his throat with a little cough. “So where are we going, mon attirante voleur?”
