And I don’t see how suggesting such a thing and then playing about relationships as if this were a game would make me any more inclined to ‘cuddle’ with you. Honestly, Kuroba-san… I knew that you were obnoxious but…”

“I am so entirely confused by the mixed signals in this response of yours, Kaitou-san…

"My friendship you potentially already have, or would if you would accept the fact that I know your secret identity and have been keeping it safe. 

"Cuddling could be acceptable, yes, in the right circumstances. Such as a long term relationship, which you… may or may not… want?

"And, pardon, Kaitou-san, but I am no person’s ‘bitch.’”

Kaito raises an eyebrow at his words. Let him escape? Now THAT was a strange concept. He keeps him his wide grin, “I never have been one to listen to warnings, Tantei-san.” he shakes his head. “If I gave it to you now, I would just have to try again later.” he adds on, “I think disappearing is the better idea. Thank you for considering though~!”

KID reaches into his pocket, his hands moving quickly before throwing a smoke bomb onto the ground in order to hide where he was standing. His legs move quickly to disappear into the smoke.

Dammit! 

Hakuba grit his teeth. If Kaitou managed to disappear, it’d be the running-chase-miss game all over again. “Oh no you don’t!” The detective, normally so proper in posture and procedure, immediately threw caution to the wind and leaped at the thief, arms around to grasp whatever he could get a hold of – if anything. 

There was a reason why he didn’t normally do this sort of thing. Kaitou had a knack for escaping regardless, and ending up face first on the concrete in front of the approaching officers was certainly not high on the list of things that the young detective wanted to deal with. But there was always a chance that he could catch the thief, right?

Kid chuckles lightly at his words, “Nakamori-keibu wont like that much.” He grasps the jewel tightly. 

“Well being caught is out of the question.” Kid response, a smirk on his lips. “And I don’t want to leave with out this precious jewel here. And running would just ruin the fun don’t you think?” he laughs to Hakuba. “How about I just disappear? That sounds much more interesting.”

The detective couldn’t resist the urge to roll his eyes, though his smile betrayed his amusement. “Just disappear, my dear thief? Please – I know you’ve got more than enough magic tricks up your sleeve, but you’re not fooling me at all. Hand over the gem and I might let you escape.”

Hakuba twirled the handcuffs on his index finger once, then grasped them firmly, beginning his slow approach. 

No, he had no intention of catching Kaitou Kid. Not tonight, anyway. But he knew that the thief loved a good chase and, well, Hakuba supposed that making concessions now and again was a good thing. 

“This is your last warning, Kaitou-san!”

KID starts to configure a plan in his head quickly. His face never gives any change. “Tantei-san, why would I start running? You going to call up your friends?“ he questions, trying to buy a bit more time. There were very few exits that would allow him to get outside. A couple of tricks coming to mind in order to get past the detective.

"Oh no, no, no, my dear Phantom Thief!” Hakuba laughed, shrugging his shoulders – slipping the hand free from his suit jacket to reveal a pair of silver handcuffs.“This is between you and me… I’d hate for this opportunity to be squandered by Nakamori-keibu and his team. After all… I don’t get the opportunity to attend to your heists very often these days.”

Hakuba tilted his head, smile broad and confident. “So what’ll it be, Kid? Are you going to run? …or are you going to let me catch you?”

KID can’t help but grin at the question. He tips his hat down to cover more of his face. “Now Hakuba… We only have met a few times.“ he laughs, “A kinky thought, but I would much rather keep them off.”

“That’s more than fair for an answer, Kaitou-san. I appreciate the honesty. However…”  The detective raised a brow as he glanced over at the thief, one hand on his hip, the other moving to his inner suit-jacket pocket. “If you’d like to avoid the handcuffs, I suggest that you start running.”
