Jealousy: My character gets jealous over yours.

“Aha… curious… very curious indeed. I wonder what’s prompted him to write to me. No doubt Himura-kun had something to do with it, don’t you think?”

Hakuba turned to the hawk perched nearby, who only glanced at him wearily before tucking her head back under her wing. Her master did this sort of thing to her often; talking as if she cared about what he was rambling on about. But at least he had the sense to never expect any sort of response from her.

“Well… I suppose it would only be polite to reply. It would be rather interesting to meet Tintin, after everything I’ve heard about him. And adventure… why, that’s so charming! Do you suppose he really intends to pull me along for some sort of story of his, or is this more a catch phrase that he employs at the end of every letter without thought? I wonder…. I do wonder, indeed. Yes, I should write to him right away. Watson, my pen, if you please…” He paused. “I’m only joking, my love, of course. Please, continue resting; I’ll take care of everything.”

aboyreporter:

Dear Tintin,

I went out on my first date with Hakuba.

This was the only part of the letter that stood out to him. Even if there was more before that, and many other paragraphs that went on for several pages, it was that mere comment that had him floored. Eyes fixed to the paper as if he was trying to light it with his mind, the boy tossed the creased papers to his desk before rising with a frustrated sigh.

Hands on his hips, he stroked at his chin and looked around the empty office where he stood. A soft breeze blowing into the apartment window from behind him, he took a glance down to his dog before shaking his head.

“Him, but why him? Hakuba of all people?" The bitterness in his tone was quite obvious, even if he tried to maintain composure. Snowy, from where he lay in his bed perked up and arched an ear at his master’s sudden mood change. Always quite obvious when he came to pacing around his desk in what little room there was.

"Surely she would have told me if they were— dating— wouldn’t she? Or maybe it’s an attempt at making me.. jealous?"

Was that what he was.. jealous? Of a man he had never even met? How ridiculous! He shook his head angrily and sat on the front of his wooden desk, swinging his leg back and forth like an irritated pendulum. The soft sound of the heel of his shoe tapping against the the base of  it was all that could be heard.

"Or— maybe Hakuba knew this all along. After all, I’m no great mystery to him thanks to Emi.. maybe it’s a way to let me know to appreciate others— and not underestimate a man I’ve yet to meet!" Ending his exclamation mark of a sentence with a finger in the air, it quickly deflated just as he did. “But that’s just silly, to think that someone like him would be challenging me to something— well, someone that doesn’t even belong to me!”

Maybe he was just over thinking things as usual. Besides, who was he to judge the choices they made, and if they were happy then why would he bother to step in on anything? A sigh fell from his lips at the thought. Rising up, he made his way back around the desk and took a glance to the handwritten letter staring back at him.

He rubbed his eyes then, leaning forward, both hands on the table as he thought it over. Never was he the jealous type, no, not at all. But when it came to others interfering with his friends, or rather, taking his place with charming words and flowers and chocolate. Well, he couldn’t help but feel a little bit..

Bitter, or.. Jealous, for a better word.

You win this time Hakuba, but there was one thing he had yet to receive that Tintin himself had. A certain bright pair of panties, new, still yet to be worn, but tucked away as a gift from a certain special someone he couldn’t seem to get off his mind. The thought made him chuckle and sink back into his chair with a laugh. Then, collecting up paper, he slipped it into the typewriter and began his letter.

Dear Hakuba,

———— I would like to arrange a time for us to meet. We have a lot of catching up to do for two who’ve yet to even know each other face to face. Are you up for a little adventure?

                                                 Sincerely,

                                                                        Tintin

Dear Tintin,

I was most delighted to receive your letter, and am very interested to meet, indeed. I’ll be in London on business in the relatively near future, though my occupation enables me to travel quite frequently. Thus, if you have a location and time in mind, please advise and I will do my best to be there accordingly.

Finally, to address your question – yes, of course! I’ve never been one to turn down a bit of adventure, and I’m quite curious as to what you might mean by the query.

Again, thank you for your letter. I look forward to your quick response.

Respectfully,

S. J. Hakuba

There… that ought to take care of that, Watson. Would you mind flying it to him~? Oh, you’d rather not? I suppose that’s all well and fine, then, too. I’ll just drop it in the post tomorrow morning.”
