Mistletoe (if I’m not too late!)

crystalizedrainbow:

[3/5!]

She hadn’t expected to see him after saving him, it wasn’t everyday that Usagi got to run into the people she saved. Granted that was because most of her heroics was done with to groups of people any more so faces tended to not get too much focus. Of course she might only have remembered him because he’d tried to play handsome knight and save her instead.

And of course she would run into him in a building where mistletoe was, hanging up above their heads and leaving her to stare at it for just a moment. She never should have agreed to come to this party to act as helper hostess, a favor for her dad who’s boss’s best friend was throwing the party and needed help? Something like that.

Blue eyes fell from the hanging plant to the blonde, noting he was still rather attractive and blushing. Thankfully the heels gave her some sort of edge in height so she didn’t have to stand much on her tip toes in order to kiss his cheek.

Of course, as she pulled away, she wasn’t certain he had seen the plant so she pointed up quickly as she put some space between them and giggled nervously.

“M-mistletoe.”

Mistletoe

akaikujixyaku:

                  “ You’re sure it’s alright? I don’t
want to impose myself on anyone… “

Oh don’t be silly. Of course
it’s alright. You know my mother
                  adores
you.”

Goodness, and she thought she had a hand for decorations. Hakuba’s home was trimmed from wall to wall with holly, silver and gold, extravagance to a point of initial overwhelming, but not in a fashion unattractive. It was tasteful, beautiful, and at least somewhat reflective of the family’s wealth. In the back of her mind, Emi couldn’t help but worry that Marian had gone aside herself to make it especially exceptional because of her stay, but the thought was easy enough to cast aside. Nobody, she reckoned, would go to such extravagance for her

                   Right?
                   Oh goodness.

Saguru hardly had to give her a full tour for practical purposes, as it wasn’t her first time in the mansion, but he ended up walking with her through all the halls anyways, as she fluttered around in a fit of glee and admiration. There was some extra staff for the holidays it seemed, but most of the slim supporting cast was familiar to the Osakan. They greeted her with smiles and warm welcomes which were reciprocated with even more loving fervor.

By the time they had reached the room where she would be staying,
the umber-eyed detective couldn’t help but laugh, leaning against the door
while Emi (distractedly) placed her bags, and fell on the bed with a sigh of
content.

“I could barely keep up with you,
and this is my house– you weren’t
kidding when you said you had a
holiday spirit to reckon with. “

She most certainly wasn’t. An empathetic soul, (and mind), by
nature, the massive outpour of compassion and kindness every year
which greeted the ‘Christmas season’, appealed to her on the greatest
level. Giving and gathering were some of her most profound joys,

❝ I’m just so happy, Saguru-kun.
Thank you. For having me. And
for bearing with me as I dragged
you through the whole house.

               She barely noticed his grin.

”Not the whole house. You haven’t seen the tree. “

For the first time in the evening, she let him lead the way, traipsing
back through the hall, down the stairs, and into the house’s main den. And
Hakuba was probably well-and-proud of himself at the even greater sound
of joy which escaped the lips of his compact companion. Contrary to the
organized and themed nature of the rest of the house’s decorations, those
on the tree were a myriad of colours. Hand-blown glass and other clearly
vintage ornaments lined the branches, and a faintly-glowing (yet still very
beautiful) angel capped the douglas fir.

The rest of the room followed suit, with primarily wooden and
hand painted decorations, subtle, and warm. Familial and sweet, just as
any proper room for gift exchange ought to be.

               ❝ Oh- Saguru- it’s… wonderful. ❞

” Mmmhm. Nearly perfect. Just one thing left to add. “

She followed his hand as it slipped into his pocket, then opened to
     show what he’d gathered.

With nothing particularly good to say, she just blinked between the small
bundle of dark leaves and white berries and up to his softly smiling eyes,
before he lifted the bushel above them. He bent at the waist, and she held
loosely on the edges of his jaw, closing the space between her lips and his.

” Merry Christmas, Honemi. “

               ❝ Merry Christmas, Sugaru. ❞

One hand hip, the other hand waist~

           Oh is that so?
part of her begged to ask,
             but was, thankfully, silent.

Cheeks ran red as she pulled some hair aside—
funny, she thought, that her heart still raced after all this time.
But then, perhaps it would be more strange if that fluttering beat
were to be any different, considering Emi could hardly recall a
time when the detective hadn’t had such an affect on her. It was
surely different, before they met, but nonetheless, t’was there.

           Hesitation,
before she leaned in slightly closer
             and reached up slender fingers,
first resting lightly, softly on his chin,
and second, drifting over to hold his cheek.

There was nothing she could say to better express reciprocation,
but her second hand fell, too, at his waist.

Still silent, still gentle, he traced the hand from her hip up over her stomach, movements slow and deliberate, and stopped over her left breast. He let his fingers rest there, feeling for her heartbeat, then looked to her eyes with a small smile.

Mistletoe (not sure if I’m too late~)

expensivebirdboy:

Next five people to say ‘Mistletoe’ in my askbox get a kiss.

Christmas was just a few more weeks away and the music and decorations in every little shop and streetcorner only made that even more obvious, much to the distress and annoyance to a lot of giftshoppers and simple passerbys.

Dick, however, loved it.

The moment December rolled around, it was like someone had permanently glued a grin to his face and even despite the cold that sometimes got just a little too close to being unbearable, he still couldn’t help but feel so incredibly giddy and jolly.

Seeing that famiiar face turn the corner only served to strengthen that feeling of pure and simple happiness. His expression brightening, Dick fished around in his pocket for the little plant he’d nicked from a store a few blocks away, while swiftly, smoothly closing the distance between himself and the blond detective.

He could see the other’s mouth opening in greeting, but before he could fully form the words, Dick threw an arm around his neck and tugged him down, his other hand happily waving the little mistletoe above their heads.

“Merry Christmas~” he sing-songed, something just a little sly and mischievous flashing across his face as he leaned in that final inch to capture Hakuba’s lips in a warm, long kiss.

Whisper~

moonlightmajutsushi:

“I know, I know. It was reckless, you would have probably been fine, I might have wasted your efforts at trying to allow me to escape by coming back. He can’t actually kill you, unless he just wants to ask for trouble… But damn it, tantei-san, you shouldn’t just casually push me off the building to make sure I leave, even if I do have the glider… Even if you didn’t want me to have to deal with Spider…”

Kid paused his worried pacing to glance over at the detective, whose eyes were closed and breathing was even. He was fine. They both were fine. The thief hadn’t known if imitating Nakamori’s voice to pretend the task force was coming would work, but it seemed it had. The assassin hadn’t been there when he stepped out… but Hakuba sat slumped against the wall, immediately drawing the thief’s attention as he rushed over to check for signs that the other was okay. No bleeding and still had a heartbeat, thank god. He’d waited a few moments before taking the radio out of the teen’s pocket and making an actual announcement, in his own voice, that the detective had met with some trouble on the roof and might need help.

And then, instead of rushing off, he’d waited, walking back and forth, muttering to himself. He wanted to be sure they actually did come.

Kid stared a minute before walking back to the teen and kneeling down. They should get here soon, so he might as well actually get out of sight now…

"…Sorry I came back after that…” A pause and he leaned in to give a gentle hug to the detective, voice falling into a whisper, “But I loved you too much.”

Whisper~

themoonlightthief:

He sighed and scooted closer to the sleeping blond beside him, eyes opening slowly to watch the gentle rise and fall of his chest, before trailing upwards, resting on the serene expression on his face. No nightmares tonight, then. Letting out a soft breath, Kaito shifted just a little nearer, lips brushing a light kiss to the detective’s jaw, nuzzling against his neck.

A hand reached out to place itself right over Hakuba’s heart, the gentle ‘thud’ just below his palm making the softest of a smile tug at the magician’s lips, warmth and utter affection and love flooding his chest. He closed his eyes.

His.

Hakuba was his and he was Hakuba’s and there was nothing in the world he’d ever do to change that. He loved him. More than he’d thought he’d ever love anyone and if he could have him by his side, if he could stay by Hakuba’s side, then—

In a moment of sudden impulse, Kaito leaned closer, tilting his head to whisper and press a smiling kiss to the curve of his detective’s ear.

“Marry me.”
