((Since it’s Christmas I figured Sherlock should meet someone new)) Striding quickly down the street, Sherlock glanced back and forth across the surroundings for any sign of the man he had been following. Seeing none, he sighed in frustration and slumped against the wall. How unfruitful this had been! It was a few moments before he realised there was someone stood very near to him. “You! Have you seen a man with a facial tattoo pass by? He is about 6 foot tall. Hurry up and say, I am in a rush.”

His arrival had been noted with great interest by the someone, who then quietly pulled the lit cigarette from his mouth to consider the request. He turned his head away, blew out a puff of smoke, and answered while reaching for the little black book in his breast pocket with his free hand.

“I have, as a matter of fact. Five, to be precise, within the past hour that meet such description.” Hakuba glanced at him sideways, attempting to appear casual. He knew who this was: he’d made himself intimately familiar with Mr. Holmes’ cases, both via John’s blog and the actual police records at the station. To say that he was excited was an understatement. “If you could be more specific, I might be able to assist you. What sort of facial tattoo?”

DO YOU EVER JUST HAVE THE BIGGEST FUCKING CRUSH ON SOMEONE EVER AND YOU JUST KNOW IT WONT WORK BECAUSE THEY’RE TOO OLD OR  YOU’RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH OR THEY ARE TOO ATTRACTIVE FOR YOU SO YOU PRETTY MUCH SPEND WHAT FEELS LIKE ETERNITY HAVING THIS UNEXPLAINABLE FEELING FOR THEM UNTIL IT RIDS YOU OF THE SMALL BIT OF HEART YOU HAVE LEFT UNTIL YOU FIND ANOTHER PERSON TO HAVE THE SAME SHITTY FEELING TOWARDS

“Maybe they need a good pranking. Still, it is a reversal of the norm, where I’m the one that isn’t on your last nerve, hopping up and down frantically on it.” He let Hakuba do so, though he had a Chershire cat grin now. Despite that, he noted the weariness. “Perhaps you could take a break? Or at least deal with casework that isn’t so irritating.”

“I can’t take a break… too many murders going on. Too many many cases being closed when they really shouldn’t be…”  Hakuba frowned. "…And, I really would hope that you wouldn’t intentionally do that to my last nerve. That sounds decidedly uncomfortable.“

“Oh? That’s a shame. You know it’d be funny.” Nuzzles were all well and good and he responded in kind. “Mind telling me who’s causing so much trouble? Perhaps I could do something.”

“Only if you’re willing to take everyone but yourself as the answer.” It was said in jest, but tiredly. Eyes closed, Hakuba turned toward KID to drape his arms around him, “Colleagues, clients, culprits… I’m just tired.” A sigh.

“…What you would do to take care of any pests, anyway? Pranks?”

“Oh? Is there anything I can do to help with that unwanted attention? Perhaps dress up as you and act as a decoy?” KID leaned against Hakuba, still grinning. “Nice to see you again, too, mon détective.”

“Good god.”  Hakuba dropped his head against KID’s shoulder, letting out a sigh, and may or may not have nuzzled against his neck. “I can only imagine how that would go. No, no… I think that would be unnecessary. Just having a moment to rest with my preferred company is very helpful."

“Fair enough. Though you’d probably be happy to have missed my last heist. Between Nakamori-keibu, Hattori, and that Kita girl, I don’t imagine you’d be very happy dealing with all three.” He grinned lazily. “I am curious about what you mean with difficulty? Perhaps I can help?”

“No, that doesn’t sound pleasant at all. As for my problems… it’s mostly dealing with unwanted attention, I’m afraid.” Hakuba looked down at the thief, just for a moment, then took a seat next to him on the bench. “I enjoy company as much as the next person in controlled, specific circumstances. But unexpected visits and unreasonable expectations?”

The detective shook his head.

“It’s put me into a bit of a hermit mode. More than normal, I mean. But it’s… very nice to see you again, mon cher voleur.
