INFJs, making up an estimated 1% of all people, are the most rare type (males even more so). They are introspective, caring, sensitive, gentle and complex people that strive for peace and derive satisfaction from helping others. INFJs are highly intuitive, empathetic and dedicated listeners. These traits tend to act as a “tell me what’s wrong” sign on their forehead, hence the nicknames Confidant, Counselor or Empath. INFJs are intensely private and deeply committed to their beliefs.

[IC] Toys:Do you want children?
“One day, perhaps… I certainly wouldn’t say no to a family, though I’m not sure how likely it is to happen.Life is finicky like that."
[Muse: Tinsel, Holly, Hot Cocoa]
Tinsel: What perfume/cologne do you wear?
“Lately I’ve been favoring Classic Old Spice cologne… mostly because it’s similar to what I normally wear at home in London, but is actually obtainable in Japan. I suppose I could go through the effort of importing but… nah, I’ll just pick up anther bottle when I head home in the next few months.”
Holly: Who was the last person you sent a letter to?
"Ah, my dear friend Suzuki Sonoko… we’ve gotten into the habit of being sort of pen pals over the past couple of years, though neither of us are terribly diligent at keeping up with it… particularly as she has a boyfriend and all, now. I think she’s been saving her stationary for him.”
Hot Cocoa: What’s your favorite thing about yourself?
“About myself? Ah… perhaps it’s my uncanny ability to walk circles around just about any topic or question and not actually end up giving a straight answer whatsoever."

Ramen
“I despise the way that ramen fogs up my glasses.”
“Young master, you shouldn’t be eating ramen in the first place. Not that instant rubbish, anyway. It’s very unhealthy.”
“Baaya, please. I’m attempting to get into character.”
“Are the glasses really your disguise? I have to say that they likely won’t fool anyone.”
Hakuba lowered the black rimmed glasses, index finger pulling at the bridge to draw them down to the tip of his nose, and frowned. “No. Baaya, they’re reading glasses.” He held up a university level Chemistry textbook. “God, I’m not that foolish.”
“Considering that you’re not very Japanese?” Baaya gave him a skeptical glance in return.
“Even if I weren’t a bloody halfer, a simple pair of glasses wouldn’t make for an adequate disguise on anyone. Now, leave me in peace. I’m enjoying this…” He glanced at the torn packet on the counter. “…oriental flavor.”
“Are you really?”
“No… I put an egg in it, minced garlic, spinach, and several stalks of diced green onion, yet all I can taste are the cheap carbohydrates.”
With a snort, Baaya offered nothing but a pat to the young detective’s shoulder before leaving him to his work.
lust, pride, envy
Lust: a headcanon about your character’s romantic and/or sexual life
I’ve mentioned it in passing before (so very vaguely), but Hakuba is somewhat terrified of being on the receiving end of oral. Actually, too much sexual focus/attention on him at all is likely to trigger an anxiety attack. He prefers to be giving, in control, or at least taking turns/mutually participating in the hot makeouts+. I guess that’d be an effective way to torture him, though… yikes. Sexy to sobbing mess in about 45 seconds. Attempts to please him are typically deferred and redirected.
Pride: a headcanon about something your character is a bit cocky about
Being able to travel so often has given Hakuba the idea that he’s somehow more sophisticated and cultured than his colleagues. It’s not unusual for him to flaunt his international knowledge, or boast about the more interesting, exotic cases that he’s worked on.
Envy: a headcanon about your character’s secret desires and jealousies
Hakuba is genuinely jealous that Conan is the detective thought of, first, for being close to capturing Kaitou KID. Granted, Hakuba’s not even trying very hard these days, given his personal feelings, but it still drives him crazy. After all, he was the first teen detective to show up and make the police force look like absolute fools. Then along came Kudou, who is arguably the best of the best (being the main character probably helps this some), and forced KID to raise the stakes. Even now as Conan, it’s been said that no one has given Kaitou as much of a challenge.
So as much as he admires his senpai, he’s terribly envious of him, too. Especially since Shinichi and Conan both make it look so easy. Bastards.
[Don’t chase the rabbit!!]
And now, a random memory from Hakuba’s past…
Once upon a time, when Hakuba was just a little four year-old Ickleba, he lived in Japan with both his mother and his father. They were negotiating moving back to London at the time, and decided to get some of the more tourist-y activities out of the way first. After all, they were certain that they would never return to Japan, and wanted to give their little Saguru a chance to experience all that he could of the culture that would undoubtedly shun him if they stayed.
So off they went to a festival. OBON FESTIVAL!
Hakuba Sr and Marion put little Saguru in the outfit and got him the traditional snacks and all of that good stuff, most of which he only vaguely remembers. This is because, as wonderful and exciting and colorful as everything was, the boy noticed a turtle in one of the ponds when they first arrived and… he kept wandering back to look for it, time and time again.
Slipping out of his parents’ hands was a skill that he had mastered by then, and made ample use when something caught his eye. You’d think that the Hakubas would have an easy time finding their OBVIOUSLY foreign son, but alas, he was too small and quick. Being pale and blonde did them no good when there were too many people in bulky, colorful attire, balloons, lanterns, and so on.
They eventually did find him, though, standing in the middle of the pond barefoot, water up to his knees, searching in the dark for the turtle. Singing, of all things, for it to come and let him take it home.
Fireworks were great and all, but had nothing on that turtle, which had long since hidden from the splashing, wild movements of the boy. Oops.
…it was much relieved when he was unceremoniously dragged out and home over his father’s shoulder, as you might imagine.

Epiphany
It was when Kaito missed school after a heist that Hakuba first noticed it. He’d been injured the night before, which Hakuba had known, but had assumed that his assistants would take care of it. Surely, Kuroba-kun had a team working with him to deal with all of the minor scrapes and bruises, right? But, no, he’d only seen him with one other person besides Aoko, who certainly didn’t know the truth. And that was Jii, the owner of the Blue Parrot. Spry as he was, the man was, well, old… and managing the health of an internationally wanted super thief was no easy job. Least especially not with just how dangerously Kuroba conducted himself.
In that moment, staring at the empty desk, it struck Hakuba just how… much the very idea of losing him hurt. Just how much he cared. That the rising panic in his chest wasn’t the immediate thought of ‘great what’s that obnoxious idiot scheming now?’ or ‘good, he deserves to be exhausted after the runaround he gave us last night’ but rather ‘oh God I hope he’s okay’ and ‘should I contact him or Jii!? Oh God what if Jii doesn’t answer? Who can I contact then?!’ …all followed by the immediate relief of having Kuroba hang up on him when he snuck out to ‘use the restroom’ and instead placed the phonecall in the hallway.
He realized that he wanted to be closer. He wanted to know who Kaito trusted, so that he could utilize them when necessary for the thief’s benefit. Hakuba wanted to know his friends, his enemies, his resources, contacts, family. He’d already gathered a lot of this information before, certainly, and it sat in his database ready to be used but… Oh, god, the database.
After school he hurried home and made the necessary updates to the files. Kuroba Kaito was no longer a suspect for Kaitou KID – several other people that he didn’t know remained on the list as red herrings, but Kuroba was confirmed to not be the thief after all.
Hakuba then upgraded his medical field bag to include a hell of a lot more supplies for suturing, sterilization, different sized bandages, splints, creams for burns, and so on, including a box of little bunny plasters. The kit moved from a small messenger bag to a larger duffel and became a permanent resident of the trunk of his car (which has come in handy on many occasions). He also got into the habit of texting exactly an hour after heist’s end to confirm Kaito’s safe arrival to wherever. Text, wait fifteen minutes, the text again if necessary. Nothing too sappy or worried, just…
[text] Home free?
[text] Still alive?
[text] I hope you didn’t get too much blood on your carpet.
[text] I suppose congratulations are in order.
[text] Good show.
[text] Until next time?
…and a drive around the neighborhood if he had any niggling fears or doubts, though even then he hesitated for fear of bringing attention. He loved Kuroba Kaito, after all, and couldn’t stand the idea of losing him. The thief may never learn to trust him or accept him as a friend, but Hakuba would do what he reasonably could to help. Even if that only meant attending heists just to be on site to administer medical aid.
Not that KID would accept it, but it did make Hakuba feel a little bit better.
