Morning After Texts

He was kind of glad he hadn’t commented on the compliment, if only because he was quite red faced as it was upon realizing he’d voiced that thought. Though it faded some at the grin he cracked at the last text.

[text] I’m sure you have. Though remind me if I ever rethink my stance on drinking to make sure I take you with me. I think it would be in my best interest to have you along.

[text] Though if it does ever happen, lets not let Hattori know about this…

[text] Of course. I’ll invite you to come along next time; I think that we could have quite a bit of fun. The Osakan can stay in Osaka, and we Tokyo residents can enjoy an evening of discussing Mr. Holmes over a drink or two.

Kudou Shinichi wanting to potentially have drinks with him and not invite Hattori? Perhaps things weren’t quite so horrible…

The little thief watched with eager eyes as Hakuba went to retrieve the box, legs kicking excitedly and impatiently, arms instantly reaching for the truffles the moment the blonde was close enough.

“I’ll take the chocolate, caramel and peanut butter ones,” he decided, grinning happily, brightly, innocently. “You can have the chocolate raspberry. If you want. Or I could take that one too. I don’t really mind either way, just saying~”

“You can have the whole box if you like; I can always get more.” He let him have the box, smile broad and pleased at Kaito’s reactions. “Just don’t eat too much all at once. I’ll get the hot cocoa… the water should be about boiling now.  How long do you think you’ll be staying? I can get something arranged for dinner, perhaps?”

The water was, indeed, ready, and he got out two mugs – one for chocolate powder, one for tea, and set them up, stirring the former, setting the latter to steep. Then he looked back to Kaito, tilting his head to one side as he regarded him.

“…God, you’re just so cute. What am I to do with you?” He walked the cocoa to him and offered it, handled first. “Careful, it’s hot."
