“Shine”

AU where everyone has a mark on their body and it shines brightly when they meet/touch the person who will eventually murder them. Send me “Shine” to see my muse’s reaction when their mark starts to shine.

He’d known that the Koushien could be dangerous, mostly because there was so much about it that had been so off from the very beginning, but Hakuba hadn’t expected this. The detective was good at feeling out motive and intent on any typical day, but there was nothing that presented such clarity as the mark on the back of his wrist.

It was mostly covered by the watch that he wore, and he dutifully checked throughout the day just in case, as he’d seen it happen far too many times. Marks glowing, people dying. Murder was everywhere. Being a detective, he always knew that it would eventually happen to him, too, but… a teenager? A fellow detective?

Hakuba adjusted his suit jacket so that the sleeve covered the mark a little better, hoping that the soon-to-be-killer hadn’t seen it.

“I see” he said, continuing on with what he’d been saying before it had caught his attention. “So you’re Hattori Heiji-kun… My father speaks well of you.”
