Kaitou Kid, Rules, and “No One Gets Hurt”

If you’ve been in the Detective Conan/Magic Kaito for any length of time – especially if you read a lot of fanfic – you’ve probably heard that Kid has a rule for heists: “No one gets hurt.” If not, you’ve probably at least heard the fact that Kid doesn’t use real guns/isn’t violent/etc. repeated endlessly. And while the thing about not using real guns is true, “no one gets hurt” is a different matter.

As in, it’s super made up.
