True Love, Chocolate. (sorry if this sends more than once.. my internet was being weird and didn’t say it sent.)

true love: do you believe in love at first sight?

“Yes and no. I believe that there are several different types of love, and that human beings experience several of them at any given time, but they, like most things in life, are cyclical in nature and overlap from time to time but not always. Love at first sight could be something in the way of physical attraction, a compatibility of spirit, an instant connection of some kind, kismet, etc… and those are forms of love, but are they true love? That depends on your definition, I suppose. Romantic love, I think is typically a combination of several other types of love… but it is not necessarily better or worse than any other…

"Can people ‘fall in love’ at first sight? Certainly. Will it last? That depends on the individuals. Has it happened before? I’m certain that it would be easy to find several instances where this is, indeed, the case. But there would probably be four or fives times as many where it has not lasted, or has been one-sided, or a variety of other such things…

"Relationships are complicated. They take a lot of work to create and maintain. To rely on only one factor of love, especially when it comes to the aforementioned cycles often results in a spark that fizzles and burns out. But, coupled with time, compatibility, friendship, etc… that sort of love can grow into something more sustainable."

chocolate: what would you most like to receive on valentine’s day?

“Ah, well, they are a person of many talents… who is very passionate and driven, with a wonderful heart and mind. They’re strong. Athletic. So incredibly cunning and clever… and, god, attractive… H- ah, they have the most charming smile, too… sort of a witty, mischievous grin that they wear when they’re getting away with something — which is most of the time — and they completely own it. Confident. Brilliant. Deep…”

“Aha, I could probably go on and on about them…”

Arrow and date, a-yo.

arrow: how much does your happiness depend on your relationships with others?

“Well… ah, I’m an introvert by nature, but while I do spend a lot of time on my own and derive my energy from myself… not getting along with others certainly makes everything that I do much, much more difficult. It’s unfortunate, perhaps, that so much of my job requires that I depend on others for information, red tape clearance, and cooperation. In addition, having classmates that don’t seem to care for me really does put a damper on school. It can get rather lonely…”

date: do you think age differences are a big deal?

“That largely depends on how wide the gap is and how mature the persons in the relationship are. I’ve met several young people who were infinitely more mature than some others that were twenty, thirty years older… It comes down to the individual, I guess is what I am trying to say, though you must always be certain to follow the laws of consent."

Nervously, Ran swept a strand of hair from her face. She held a package wrapped in red paper, tied with a silver bow. Within the box she had placed the homemade chocolate she’d made the night before. Taking a deep breath, she handed the box to the Detective. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

“Ran… Thank you very much.” He accepted the box with both hands, and bent over to place a kiss on her cheek first, then her lips. Soft, careful, sweet. “Happy Valentine’s to you, too, darling. Now, you’ll get your return gift from me on White Day, but I didn’t want you to be without today, so…"

He transferred the box to he one hand, then dug in his suit jacket pocket with the other, and offered a tiny, plush unicorn. "It’ll make more sense, later. Shall we go to dinner now~?”
