#is that fucking comic sans Yes, Emi-kun… … yes it is. :I …but damn, aren’t I fine anyway? And Watson! She’s gorgeous!
You can’t quit your manga! That doesn’t even make sense!
"Shhhhh! I can do it if I wait until everyone else is asleep. I ALMOST managed to leave MK that one time…”
Shit. That’s right, there’d been a heist the other night. Hakuba looked at his pocket calendar, then the scheduler in his phone, and finally the calendar on the wall with photos of the city of Paris. It had been written there, at least, but not…? Not in the rest of his books?
The detective frowned, glancing down at the gem in his handkerchief, ever so carefully rubbing at the surface to remove what fingerprints he could. How had he missed the heist? It wasn’t like him at all. Then again, he could have sworn that the others had gone after…? Or had they? Not that it mattered; Kaitou KID would have gotten away with it regardless. But still… he’d… forgotten entirely.
Hakuba set the stolen heist aside and rubbed at his eyes tiredly. He’d need to get it to the station right away to be returned to its rightful owner. And then he’d have to make it up to Kid somehow. Or did he? He wasn’t required to be at heists, was he? No- no he wasn’t. But then, how could he protect Kaitou if he didn’t attend? What if something had happened? Dammit… dammit!
He got up from his desk and carefully slid the note from Kaitou into his journal, then wrapped the heist up for safe stowing in his inner pocket. Better not to delay. He needed to get on top of things again. He couldn’t slip, not with something this important. The fact that he’d already made such a grievous mistake troubled him. If he’d missed something like this, where else was he slacking?
“‘Course it can’t. Glad we’ve settled that. So I’ll see you tomorrow, then?”
“Yes, I suppose so… I couldn’t have transferred that quickly anyway.”
“Hasn’t anything I’ve said gotten through to you? Maybe we should start that host club because you’re not being a great detective right now. Of course I want you to stay.”
“…well, if you insist, I suppose it can’t be helped, can it?”
He glared. “I thought you wanted to quit being a detective to become a host. This way you can be both. Right?” And stay?
“…you really want me to stay that badly, Kuroba-kun?”
((I swear I’ll start working on replies soon… sorry, today was really tough and it’s been difficult to get into the right mindset.))
He grinned. “Probably! I could even draft a few others to join. And Akako’s pretty popular with the ladies too. It might be less awkward if she were made into a host instead of just a customer. Hm, but then she’d be around all the time…”
“I think you might underestimate just how much I’d like to avoid Koizumi-san… then again, perhaps being forced to work together would end up being advantageous…”
“Wait.. no, Kuroba-kun, we can’t have a host club. I don’t have time for that. Not if I’m to stay a detective…"
“That, among other things. Also if you want to be a host, maybe you can start up your own club here in this school.”
"A… host club at our high school? I’m not certain that it’s, ah, the right kind of audience… besides, Koizumi-san would probably visit and be unceasingly passive aggressive about it, which would be rather annoying.” He paused. “That said, you would likewise make an excellent host, I think.”
