✚: What is the most frightening potential handicap or disfigurement your muse can conceive? What makes it so frightening?

I think going blind would be the thing Hakuba fears the most. It would impair basically everything that he does, and he would lose so much independence and control, which he needs. I mean, he could relearn a lot of it and, with help, could get by… but it would be such a drastic change from everything he knows. 

Which is part of why running The Butcher plot with Hakuba is so much fun~

♐: What is your muse particularly unskilled at?

Fighting. He’s been trained through the London police for self-defense and that sort of thing, but he is just not that great when it comes to much else. Hakuba can take a hit and has a decent right hook, but most of his skill with the physical aspect of catching criminals comes in the form of chasing and body tackling people. 

Violence just isn’t his forte, really. He sucks at climbing ladders, doing yoga, and any sort of martial art.

…he’s not very good at drawing, either, but his stick figures are cute.

☩: Your muse is doing some intense spring cleaning. What is easy for them to throw out, and what is difficult for them to part with?

Easy to get rid of clothes because he loves buying new ones and tends to accumulate a lot. Once his closet gets full, he goes through and donates a large portion of them, all in very good condition… … so that he can go buy more.

Meanwhile, he never wants to let go of books, even though he has way too many. His idea is to just stick them in his parents’ libraries to clear room on his own bookshelves, because they’ll never have the time to go through and root them out. 

☢: If your muse knew that they were going to die in 24 hours, name three things they would do in the time they had left.

  1. Write several letters of confession to be sent to parties that could handle the rest of his affairs (admitting feelings, giving passwords/location of info to people he trusts)
  2. Drink the bottle of wine he’s been saving
  3. Go on a very long walk

…of course, that all depends on circumstance, but he thinks these would be ideal actions to take.

❦: If your muse was having a nightmare, what would be the worst one that they could suffer?

It would probably have something to do with his time at White Chapel Academy… A lot is tied up with that, and he’s managed to compound it by attaching other traumatic events to it, including his ex, the damned druggy ‘friends’ he had, and Spider. He just does not want to face what happened to him, or what he believes will happen to him as a result. 

I have all sorts of HCs for my version of Spider that really just… made everything so much worse…~ 

☥: If events in your muse’s life had gone very differently to how they did, what would they have done with their life? What sort of occupation might they have chosen for themselves and would they, in your opinion, be happier than they are now?

I feel as though these two questions are related somehow… so let’s explore some possibilities… keeping in mind that this is all headcanon, since we know almost nothing about Hakuba’s actual history:

  • If White Chapel hadn’t happened, I think Hakuba would still be a detective, still have a strong need for justice, and still have anxiety problems, but they wouldn’t be as pronounced. He might have explored other options, like being a lawyer or journalist, but he’s always been the curious sort. He needs to know things. He’d probably be a lot more prudish and close-minded, though.
  • If his parents had stayed together, he probably would still have gone back to Japan for Spider and Kaitou KID, but he’d be a lot less defensive toward his dad. 
  • …if his family had stayed in Japan, he’d have integrated into society a lot better and, at least according to some AUs that Yuki and I have run through, would have become the premier high school detective in Japan. I think he would have been a lot more popular, had a lot more friends, respect, etc. Can you imagine Heiji and Shinichi looking up to Hakuba as their idol? Hakuba-senpai…   aahhh it’s REALLY CUTE. Just trust me. And amazing. Even if he’d just come back a couple of years earlier…
  • And then what if he’d managed to catch Kaitou KID that first heist? … … … LOL
