“Indeed, there was only one reason for me to come. My old housekeeper, she received a call from the director here, who said he would like me to participate in the program instead of Kudou Shinichi, who couldn’t be contacted. "It hurt her heart to hear, with tears, ‘the living room needs Hakuba to be […]

The Neighborhood Watch

miyanohaibara:

“Yes, it was a relief.” Pausing to think of a way to continue the conversation..“Also—” her words were cut off by the whistling of the kettle. Making her way back to the kitchen, she carefully pours the water into the cups with the tea bags. She serves it after placing the cups on a tray.  "You might want to give a minute or two, since I just placed the tea bags and all.“  Taking her seat again she looks back at Hakuba,

"Are you still planning to go to Oxford?”

“Ah, yes proper steeping time and all,” Hakuba said, nodding his head with a quirky little smile. It pleased him so much to have the company of such a smart young girl – she even knew proper tea etiquette! Amazing. “Thank you.”

His attention fell to the tea cups themselves, curious and elated, which is precisely why he didn’t find anything odd about the question asked until he’d finished answering it. “Oh, Oxford? Yes, that is still the plan for University, but I suppose we’ll have to see where I end up soon here… lots of variables in the works and all, but it does seem like the best option at this moment…"

Then he paused, blinking, and turned his attention back to the little girl.

"Haibara-chan…” He tilted his head, suspicious. “How did you know that I intended to go to Oxford? Don’t tell me you’ve been reading my magazine interviews~"

Terminal Affirmation

smokebombsandmirrors:

Kaito watched him walk away and managed a half turn to do the same before he was spinning back to him and calling out his name almost desperately. “Hakuba!”
He didn’t want to give him the chance to push him away or stop him before he had a chance to grab him. His hand found the taller shoulder and pulled hard enough to have the detective facing him again and with his free hand he gripped the back of his neck and kissed him passionately and quickly. The kiss had just a bit of claiming bite just before releasing him and the hand tug at the hair at the base of Hakuba’s head then slid delicately through the strands before brushing along the bare skin.
Then he let go, stepped back, and spoke boldly about the one thing he was terrified about. “You will not forget me.”

Hakuba had not expected it. Even with the warning, he’d barely managed to keep his footing and his bags when he was taken, gripped, kissed. Not just kissed, but with so much longing and passion, and it filled his heart with so much emotion all at once that he almost didn’t notice the fact that his face had turned a brilliant shade of crimson. Almost.

After all, he’d just been kissed like that by another man in the International Tokyo Airport, where many, many people were milling about.

Breathless, the detective blinked, struggling to readjust the bags he was holding – which had Watson chirping irritably – and gaped at Kaito for a few seconds before he nodded. “I…”

The boarding call came over the intercom again and Hakuba resisted the siren’s call to look back at the desk, instead forcing his gaze to rest solely on this boy, his Kaito, and gulped, breath choking him.

“I won’t. I won’t forget you. And you don’t forget me, either… or I’ll be quite cross."

He forced a smile at that, running his tongue over his lower lip to taste where he’d been nipped, and nodded to him, stumbling backward a step or two.

"I won’t forget, Kuroba Kaito…” Hakuba was keenly aware of the stares, but ignored them, desperately. He was about to get away from this cursed country, anyway.

“Ja, mon amour.”

Alice nodded. ” sure ” She tried to recall the questions the detective asked her and her answers. She didn’t want to incriminate herself any more by giving extra information.

” My name is Alice. I came to Japan to visit some relatives of mine.” So far she was telling the truth. ” I called the police yesterday as an anonymous informer. I told them about the location of six buried corpses.” She subconsciously told him an extra information. She didn’t inform them of the number of corpses in the previous statement. Her inner desire to help was taking over her subconscious. She didn’t seem to notice her tongue slip.

” They tracked me down and brought me for questioning. Apparently, the corpses were killed same way as some other cases they were working on. It seems to be work of a serial killer.” That was what she understood from the detective so far.

” As for my acquaintance I can’t real reveal their identity. anything else I could help you with?” It was almost midnight and she needed to get some sleep.

“Fair enough,” he said, looking up from the notebook with which he’d been taking down the occasional note. He would have to go over the file more in depth later, but so far, it seemed like an interesting case. Serial killers often were. “Any information that you can supply would be of great help, Miss Alice…

"So, tell me; was it your acquaintance that told you about the bodies, or did you discover them yourself? Precisely how did you come to find yourself in the position to call? Was there something about the bodies, their locations, or otherwise… that led you to believe that something was amiss, and that they weren’t simply poorly buried?"

Gentlemen Prefer Brits

Kid glanced at the detective after being given permission to look again before actually turning to face him, giving the other a smirk of his own as he got to his feet briefly and stretched. Then a hand fell to the brim of the top hat as he considered it.

“Actually, it’s not too bad, but yeah, not the best for a ‘laying down’ type of rest. And you know how much I like playing with assumptions, tantei-san~”

A swift pull of the cape and the thief was obscured for a brief moment, falling away to show him in a far less showy black outfit. Just simple elastic waist pants, long sleeved shirt, and a black cap, monocle still glinting under the brim. Some folding, and a quick flick of the wrist and the cape was gone as well, just leaving him a shadow of the walking target he normally was.

He lightly hopped up to sit next to Hakuba, leaning back slightly and stretching his legs for a moment as he relaxed, then loosely crossed his arms over his chest and tilted his head, satisfied grin playing on his lips. No one ever said he had to keep the full uniform on. So long as his face was mostly obscured in some way, this was fine.

“It’s almost as if you’re a gentleman ninja now, Kaitou-san…” He chuckled, shaking his head, and stretched to get a little more comfortable under the sheets and goose down comforter. “I’ll never quite understand how you change so quickly, or where you keep your superfluous disguises, but… I suppose that doesn’t really matter.”

Hakuba yawned, and lifted a hand to cover it, stretching again with the tiniest moan before rolling onto his side, getting nice and comfortable.

“…still can’t believe that you agreed to stay, either…"

The Famous Detective Couple: Expecting?!

japansfamousdetective:

“We definitely need some curtains for that room, I can’t wait to finish it.” A hand moved to her cheek to rest there, smiling so brightly she almost seemed to glow. The other clung happily to Hakuba’s as he pulled her into the hallway.

“I think it works perfectly for an office for now. We’ve got some time as it is of course, to move things around~ Though at this rate I fear it’ll end up being covered in bookshelves we have so many books.” A small sigh, leaning against him a moment as his hand moved against her back to rest against her waist. She did so love it when he held her like that. “And I even left most of my books at home!”

As he pulled her for the door, she tucked a piece of hair behind an ear, not really bothering to maybe smooth out the slightly disheveled look that had over taken her from unpacking. Sometimes she thought she looked cuter that way. She did pause to slip her boots back on and grab a jacket though.

“Well, did we ever decide if we wanted to pain that room or leave it the color it is now? Beige isn’t a bad color on those walls, after all and it would save some prep time. If we left the color sage would work really well.”

“We could always just do an accent wall, as well… though I do like the beige as-is…”  There were so many decisions to make when turning an apartment into a home; he definitely saw some of the madness behind both of his parents’ homes the deeper he got into it himself. “But you might also be right about the books. I’ve left so many at home, both in Ekoda and in England… If I were to bring them all over, there really wouldn’t be any room for anything else between the two of us, would there?”

He laughed, keeping step behind her as he pulled on his own milford coat and scarf, leaning in to kiss the back of her neck without any warning. Teasing, affectionate.

“We may have to get an entirely new apartment just for our library…”

sxpphire-sky:

Saphir struggles more before being pinned with that glare. Those blue eyes…oh hi he is sorta weak against them. “If you even went through half of what I experienced…”

But wow hey he likes this challenge. There is a small smirk. “I’ll let you judge that…detective.” He purrs

It’s distracting; that purr, that hint of folding. The detective didn’t let up, pulling himself from the desk to get his feet back onto solid ground.  He needed his bearings. “And just what have you experienced? What is it that’s made you so hostile?"

The pain in his shoulder only drives him to keep a strong hold, a little more aware of the danger, far too aware of his own vulnerabilities.

sxpphire-sky:

Saphir frowns, but there is a slight change in his position. His grip was strong surprisingly. The blade disappears.

“Let go of me,” he growls, pulling back on the other a He tries to free his wrist.

“I don’t think so,” the detective growled right back, clenching his fist around the wrist, pushing against the desk with his other hand, though it made the wound worse. The light-colored pinstripe dress shirt dotted with blood as it spread, but Hakuba didn’t care, only focused on the power play. “First you engage me in banter, then you kiss me, then you stab me? Are you insane?"
