“Could it be that Kaitou KID did it intentionally to prove that his detective is truly the best~?”

Not going to talk about the clothes. That was for maneuverability, dealing with guys who had guns and he needed to be able to run. But he was not getting flack for that hair flip!

I am really glad that they are. I think it’s interesting and fantastic and probably better than rehashing the stuff from MK over and over again.

…plus, I keep hanging on to the vain hope that there will be a Sunset Mansion episode and it would make me so, so, so happy.

“Aww, come on, lighten up.” Tries with a charming, winning smile. “I agree on the fact that the outfit was a little… well… awkward.” Still, all he had on short notice. “But first of all he made a good impression as you, for knowing your stuff, as far as I heard and… that idea of overconfidence perhaps was just meant to hint at the truth? You know, a piece of the puzzle that in the end made them realise it was him?” Just like stealing Hattori’s phone. I mean… if THAT wasn’t a hint.

“You know KID does stuff like that on purpose. Maybe the clothes were, too.”

“I suppose that does show just what kind of detective Hattori-kun is, doesn’t it? Hm… I hadn’t thought of it that way before. If it’s for the sake of proving my hypothesis, I can’t fault it all that much…”

“See! You’d have done that, too! I think he did a good job!” Chuckles. “Except for the jeans.” Snickers. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in jeans.”

But I didn’t have time to go and nick your clothes… those jeans were all I had that fit your frame.

“But I guess none of the people interacting with you/him then knew that much.” Miracle that nosey little detective hadn’t caught on to that…

“Jeans are for riding horses and going camping… I only wear them when denim is the best for the task at hand, hence why you’ve never seen me in them, and likely never will.” Hmf. “The whole ensemble was atrocious, and I do not act so snobbish or haughty. It was a sloppy job and that’s all there is to it.”

Hey! It’s KID there, not me. Don’t look at me like that! Besides – he didn’t make you look bad as a detective on that case with the Osakan and the kid! I think he even annoyed that guy you don’t really like, so… basically, it was like you there.

…Just the detective being put in a position where he was caught in one of the thief’s traps. But his portrayals of Hakuba were meant to poke fun. Most of his disguises were needed when he used them… Can’t blame him for using what he could. The detective had some trust from other’s after all, and even if the disguise was found out, any fall for actions would go to Kid, so…
