Idle Weather Shop Talk

“Yeah, that’s right. For the past couple of years. That’s really where I started to take on serious cases,” she explained, though she was still on alert. Masumi could be sociable and still keep some secrets.

“If you’re Hakuba Saguru, then I guess that explains a lot. You’re the Superintendent General’s son and a private detective too.” She had heard of him a couple of times, mostly during Kaitou Kid heists which he had failed to attend for any number of reasons. After experiencing that level of foolishness and puzzlement, she couldn’t blame him for using any excuse to get out of it.

Ah, disappointment vanished, Hakuba’s smile quirked at one corner of his lips, brows raising in appreciation at Sera’s knowledge. “Absolutely right, yet again,” he said, nodding to her. “You’re two for two thus far."

It would be exaggerating to say that he was impressed, but he was at least pleased with their conversation as it stood. The blond detective wasn’t one to get overly excitable with people that he’d just met, particularly not with the fairer sex, and so simply went back to his coffee for a moment.

Then, after another taste of hazelnut and whipped cream, he gave an idle hum. "Are you enjoying the work here?"
