Bloody Moriarty

He noticed the dog first and nearly knelt down with boyish delight to play with it. The cane was next, then finally Hakuba’s face. He remembered him from the minor amount of cases they worked on together from his days as Conan and the background research he had done when the detective had first contacted him.

Standing he slipped off the glasses and tossed them onto the papers, and extended a hand out to him. “Hakuba Saguru?”

Twig looked between the two people, ears perked, tail up, then sat back on her haunches when Hakuba shifted her leash to his other hand so he could take Shinichi’s. It was polite to sit while the master was doing his greetings, after all, and since they were in a building, she had to be on her best behavior.

“Yes, a pleasure to formally meet you at last, Kudou-san.” Hakuba gave a firm handshake, smile warm and confident. So far, so good. “Thank you for agreeing to meet with me. Ah, I hope you don’t mind… I’ve brought Twig along with me today."

Taking his hand back, he gestured down to the corgi, then looked back at the detective. "She won’t be any trouble, I assure you."

The dog looked up at Hakuba as if she understood him, mouth opening to pant and smile, tail swishing on the floor.
