Hikari No Sasu Basho

For how long have I been sleeping
In the gap of this endless darkness?
Wandering aimlessly in my closing off heart
I can hear a nostalgic voice  calling from far away
Riding on the arid wind

From somewhere far in the distance  reverberates a prayer
In order to see tomorrow

How much farther do I have to walk
On this endless road  before I can reach the place where the light shines?

Envisioning a lasting dream

Entrusting my thoughts  in the letters carved in red
Weaving our destinies together

How much farther do I have to walk to reach it?
Planting my feet firmly  on the marvelous earth
On this endless road  toward the place where the light shines someday

((Sung by Mamoru Miyano. English lyrics from animelyrics.com.))

( It was a good doctor appointment, btw. She wants me to focus on forcing myself to eat and sleep enough, and is increasing my meds. Very productive and helpful! Hakuba and I have a lot of the same anxiety issues… go figure. )

( At the doctor’s office, waiting waiting waiting. Hakuba is telling me that he knows some of his clients actually counter-bill doctors for wasting their time by not being ready for the appointment. He keeps looking at his watch. >:( LOL )

Pride and Obligation

Shiori squawked again and took flight towards Kaito who was the bottom of the stairs. As the bird landed on his shoulder he began chirping and talking to the magician. Kaito laughed.

“Shiori, Hakuba is someone precious, please be nice to him.”

There was a short chirp as if saying ‘but’.

“I’m sorry he messed with your nest but I can’t go up stairs.” Kaito replied and stroked the dove’s back tenderly. Shiroi cooed softly and nestled up on to the back of the couch.

Kaito sighed and looked up to the the detective.

Hakuba took the stairs carefully, even after the bird had left, smirking. “I’m precious now?” he asked, letting his amusement show in lieu of how sweet he thought that was. “He needn’t worry; I’ll replace the pillows in the morning if he likes. It must be nice having such splendid company, really… good guard dove, that one.”

He walked straightway to the couch, setting up the pillows, looking back at Kaito with a smile.

Two is Too Much

Ah, the shopping district of Shibuya – the perfect place for some retail therapy. Hakuba, the prestigious and famous foreign high school detective, left his car in the parking garage and stepped into the large mall with a deep, happy sigh. It was the weekend, he’d finished all of his homework, his case files, and his chores, and there was nothing else left to get between himself and a brand new tie.

Or so he thinks…

A Bicycle Built For Two

This is the stupidest idea he has e v e r had. Hemophiliac flying down the road on a bicycle way too tall for him please step aside.

          “L-look out!!”

Basil tries to brake to avoid hitting the stranger but the bike fails him, only managing to lessen the blow slightly as he closes his eyes and squeaks in anticipation.

C r a s h ! !

It was not a pleasant way to finish up the morning’s work. Hakuba had just set his briefcase in the trunk of the car and stepped around to make his way to the driver’s seat when the warning call reached him. He looked up, blinking, only heartbeats before impact. The detective was thrown one way, dashed half against concrete, half against asphalt, and left dazed and tumbled.

And the other… Hakuba grimaced, groaning out a sign that he was still alive, looking for the bike and its rider, though most of what he saw was the dirty underside of his car just a foot away. Strangely, he couldn’t seem pick himself up to continue his search. Was he… pinned?

Pride and Obligation

The dove nipped at the offending finger and walked back and forth on the pillow squawking and screeching ever slightly louder.

The detective rolled his eyes, shifting his hand back out of the way underneath the pile to carry it, and the bird, from the room and to the stairs. “Well, then, you’ll be a spoiled prince upon a velvet pillow, carried by a loyal servant to the king, now, won’t you~?” Hakuba asked, teasing the dove. “Don’t fall off, now.”
