Kaito bit back the sarcastic laugh. “That’s …… interesting to know and besides If you didn’t compromise me at school then I highly doubt you’d be able to do it ………” He pause in mid-sentence suddenly remembering that HE could compromise him. He had given him his father’s monocle. He closed his eyes tightly against the on coming headache and sat down. “What do you want to know? It can be anything. Just ask.”
Once Kaito was seated, Hakuba followed suit, ignoring the gnaw of his gut at the whole mess that they were in. Nothing about this was easy or comfortable, even though just moments ago they’d been, for once, at peace on that couch. Or at least relatively so. He stretched a leg out underneath the table, looking to the flatware, unable to meet Kaito’s gaze while his thoughts brewed.
“Oh, I don’t know… say what you will, but I didn’t try all that hard to cause trouble for you in class. Honestly. I could have been a much bigger pest had I wanted to be.” He forced a little smirk, though it was nothing if not pained.
“Any information that you can give me… warnings, I guess, would be appreciated. You’ve assassins after you, after all. Bad sort of people.”
