“Considering the questions following, I’ll do my best to provide different answers. So, as far as who I would like to kiss… Kaitou Kid, that cat burglar Sylwen, and Mr. Holmes.”

“Men that I find attractive… Kuroba Kaito, Kudou Shinichi, and, oh… I’m feeling generous… Hattori Heiji, as well.”

“And for the ladies… Mouri Ran, Suzuki Sonoko, and O’Kello Laura."

Blab: Three secrets I’m keeping.

“Secrets? I’m just to expose them here? Ah, very well…

  1. There was a brief period of time at the end of middle school where I experimented with a variety of drugs – it’s really a wonder that I wasn’t killed or irreparably damaged in some way.
  2. I still harbor romantic feelings for Koizumi-san, even though I know a relationship with her would be an abysmal idea.
  3. I maintain a private database full of secrets about everyone that I know, including myself. There are profiles for just about anyone I associate with or have ever been remotely curious about.

"I really do hope that no one finds out…"

Different, Dream

Different: Three members of the opposite sex I find attractive

Dream: Three wishes I have.

“Three women that I find attractive… there really are so many. Perhaps… Koizumi Akako, Himura Emi, and Miss Knox to start.”

image

“As for three wishes… let’s see:

  1. Discover the connection between White Widow and Scopolamine in terms of their distribution and chemical cocktail manufacturer.
  2. Pass all entrance exams so that I may be accepted into Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, and Keio and pick my choice
  3. Find a new, furry companion with which to share my morning jog.

"Yes, I think that would do quite nicely."

A plain rectangular box showed up at some unknown time of the day, labeled only with a sharpied “For Saguru Hakuba”. Inside was a hastily written note that described the other contents of the box:

“Today I was out to pick up a copy of one of these mystery-and-puzzle-genre games for myself, so I figured while I as at it, I would purchase the entire collection for you. Seven Ace Attorney (I have included funds to buy the single download-only game), six Layton (plus the movie), and the crossover game. I hope you like them; I’m no gamer but they are certainly enjoyable. Tell me what you think; I would love to hear some of your theories as you progress.”

The note abruptly stops there without the mention of a name. Even a “happy birthday” seems to have been forgotten in the rush. Really, the only things that seemed to receive any careful attention where the games themselves – all freshly purchased and still in their wrappers; both series in chronological order by release date, but with that special crossover separating the two franchises.

Thankfully, her handwriting has always been just a bit unique and identifiable (it probably helps that her gift from last year was scrawled in a similar manner), so it’s quite obvious who sent it.

"Oh dear… it would seem that my dear Beauty Detective has a bit of an addiction. I’ll be certain to keep you updated on my progress, yes, as soon as I have a chance to play. Thank you very much, Kirigiri-san~!”

oh why not.

britishhsdetectivehakuba:

Dear Hakuba Saguru-

Enclosed is one case (20 boxes, 100 pieces per) of what I find to be one of the most useful, but perhaps least appreciated, pieces of investigative equipment in my arsenal. These gloves (one use) are powder-free so that they don’t leave gritty residue on your hands or evidence. They’re also textured, which is useful for handling objects, using tools (in the lab, especially), and navigating particularly messy crime scenes.

You’ll also notice that they are black. I typically use these gloves during the photography portion of an investigation. They won’t stain with whatever you happen to come in contact with and offer a helpful contrast to make use of a size/reference comparison. Some of my colleagues find them to be a little intimidating, which is only an added bonus. It’s simply not as distracting as the white gloves spotted with blood and dirt.

Finally, of course, they are said to meet or exceed the ASTM criterion, so they are quite safe and should gently protect your hands quite nicely.

Good luck in your endeavors, and please have a wonderful and productive birthday on my behalf.

Respectfully yours,

S. J. Hakuba

Hakuba chuckled softly to himself as he read of the note, eyes flicking back towards the box of gloves every once in a while. Once he finished with the car he placed it down and gently lifted the box into his lap, and ran a finger over it. Yes, this was a very practical gift indeed, and he couldn’t help the soft smirk that graced his lips. He did very much enjoy this gift, he would have to send a thank later to his other self.

“Otanjoubi omedetou, tantei-san.~”

This figurine was left during the night, a rose balanced from its head to its tail.

“It’s a little dragon! …which is stating the obvious, yes, but that’s fantastic! I’ll add it to my growing collection. Who knows? Perhaps I’ll have a dragon army again soon~ Thank you, Kaitou-san.”

And there is a beautiful card with a picture of Sherlock Holmes on it, and inside it reads.

One this very important day, I do hope you have a wonderful Brithday, my dear other self. Congradulations on making it another year, and keep up the good work. Criminals always need to be caught.

Yours truly

Hakuba Saguru.

“I’m never quite sure what to think when an alternate universe crosses the barrier… but, thank you, other self. You do know precisely what I like. I shall have to send you something in return for what I assume is also your birthday!”
