“Hello. I know this seems like an odd imposition, but I was wondering if you could come over, Hakuba-kun. There are some matters I wish to speak to you about. It appears a few certain dominoes have fallen that were never meant to be touched.”
Subaru was a bit on the nervous side, given the matter of his rifle. Sure, the evidence was eliminated by his hand, but it would be smartest to make sure Hakuba was on the same page as everyone else who knew. Unlike Haibara, he couldn’t predict Hakuba’s movements so easily. It was due to how little a time they’d known each other compared to his and the Miyano family’s history.
Even then, withholding knowledge from those who knew of portions of the situation ended poorly or resulted in just barely avoiding such results by the skin of their teeth. “I would ask you be prepared for a very long discussion.”
Hakuba raised a brow at the phone in his hand, but nodded, concern growing. “Ah, certainly, Subaru-san… I can come now, in fact. I just finished with another appointment, and have the rest of the day clear."
The teenage detective approached his rental car with a light step, briefcase in the hand that wasn’t holding the phone to his ear, and set it on top of the (nice) commuter car while searching for the keys.
"What’s the address?”
