Don’t laugh, don’t laugh, don’t laugh– “Well, /yes/. First it was you and Hattori, then me and you, followed by me and Hattori and then all three of us…” he trailed off, silently counting on his fingers, before offering Hakuba a light grin. “Yeah, that sounds about right. It’s a real shame you don’t remember though…”

“Y-you and… Ha-Hattori…?” Hakuba swallowed hard, the color in his face slowly draining as he contemplated the implications therein. “Ah.. god, I… I ah… that isn’t… I…”

He swayed where he stood, lifting a hand to run through his hair, then rub at the back of his neck. Things weren’t adding up, though, as frighteningly realistic as Kid’s acting was. Hakuba let out a slow breath.

“Just how long were we out and about, anyway? I mean, not that I don’t have the stamina, but that certainly seems like quite a /lot/ of physical exertion with /that/ much alcohol. And given the limits on the human body… ” Hakuba glanced up at Kid warily, brow raising, even over his weary face. “You wouldn’t be /lying/ to me now, would you? You and Hattori in some horribly cruel, ill-conceived practical joke at my expense?”
