“Wellllllllll…” She started. “There was a supposed unsolved murder, pretty recent i believe. In a pretty aristocratic looking mansion type house not to far from where i live. The police had hurried to wrap up the case quite quickly because of some…strange…goings on, during the investigation.” She paused for a moment, as if thinking back.
“Strange things such as people hearing voices that didn’t belong to the staff, and people complaining of a sudden dizziness and headache that didn’t seem to be of natural causes considering the house itself is fairly clean and well-kept. Aside from a bit of dust here and there due to the house being vacant during the investigation period.”
As she talked her eyes sparkled, clearly excited by the thought of supernatural events. The ahoge on her head bouncing up and down while she nodded to herself.
“But being the renown detective you are that should be a piece of cake for you right? Why not come with, I’ve been…dying…to take a look at it myself after all.”
The foreign detective considered the presented information, lifting a hand to his chin. “I don’t believe that I have enough information to deem the case a ‘piece of cake,’ as you put it, quite yet… but it certainly sounds intriguing. I wonder…”
Hakuba glanced up at the ceiling in thought, lips pursing for a moment. “I wonder if it has something to do with the building itself; the type of materials that it was built out of, something in the walls… Lead paint? Improper insulation? A leak in the pipes, perhaps… or perhaps the home is close to power lines, causing electromagnetic disturbances…"
He took a deep breath, then let it go with a slow sigh, offering a smile afterward. "Well, you’ve gotten me curious enough that I should like to go with you, I think, if it’s really not too much trouble. I imagine that the verdict thus far is ‘inconclusive’ with a side of ‘paranormal activity,’ correct?”
