Kaito waited tensely for Hakuba’s response… Fully expecting to see surprise on the detective’s face… except for the fact that he is currently blind.

I need this damn blindfold off…

Still, Kaito was not expecting the silence from the other man and became curious about the detective’s response… Until he felt the weight on the bed shift just slightly before Hakuba’s cool lips pressed upon his own softly. It was simply a gentle, brief kiss that made Kaito sigh lightly in satisfaction, his sudden desire appeased… a little. Though… It left him with the question of why the detective actually went with his request…

With the blindfold finally removed, Kaito looked up to the face of a certain grinning detective. Hm… It’s been some time since I’ve last seen him… His eyes roved over the detective, his sharp eyes taking note of every fine detail in a second with a small smirk.

The same blond hair, brown eyes… Nothing much has changed, eh?

Unbidden, his gaze dropped to Hakuba’s lips and lingered… He watched as the lips that he had just kissed formed his name… and was hit with a fresh wave of desire to his gut. Sucking in a breath, he lost focus on the detective’s words and licked his lips as he stared at Hakuba, who reached over him to free his hands from the bonds.

A smirk forming at the moment the detective freed his bound hands, he roughly grabbed Hakuba’s shirt and pulled… Hard. Crushing their lips together, Kaito angled his head for a deeper kiss and held Hakuba still with one hand on the back of his head. With a quick maneuver, Kaito easily flipped them around and broke away, panting lightly as he looked down with at the detective beneath him with a wicked grin.

“That’s what I consider kissing, Hakuba-san…”

The deeper kiss had been unexpected, but not unwelcome. Hakuba stared at the other boy for the duration, wide-eyed, but didn’t resist. Not even when he was forced onto his back with an ‘oof!’ – wincing at first before laughing. Amused.

“Oh, I see. I hadn’t realized that you liked it rough, but I’ll be sure to keep that in mind for the future…”

Hakuba stayed as still as he could, watching him. He was confused as to why he would come as Kuroba Kaito instead of Kaitou Kid.. or why he would even be there in the first place. But he couldn’t deny that having been handled like that – the grasp of his shirt, the fingers in his hair – was something he’d thought about many times before. Having it actually come to pass… well, he was still catching his breath, casually as he could manage.

“Might I ask to what I owe the pleasure of your company at this odd hour…? Don’t tell me you’re finally going to confess to being Kaitou Kid, Kuroba-san.”

This is what happens literally any time you talk to a Gabcat about RP plotlines and character arcs and Things That May Happen and cliffhangers and vague hints and ESPECIALLY SHRUGGING AT GABCAT QUESTIONS aRHGdalfga – though she may not show it outwardly because she tries to hold it all in as to not scare you away.

I NEED TO KNOW!”

“Ladies and gentlemen!” KID grinned, standing up on the rooftop. The exhibit had closed at ten, but the cops and his fans were swarming about. They figured out the note after all. Good. That would make this much less boring. Over his outfit, he had a black cloak and a red and gold scarf. It was an interesting occasion, stealing something unrelated to gems after so long.

“I hope you enjoy this evening. You see, I may be a lion at heart and bold, but I can be rather ambitious. A gem of our time is what I seek and I shall get it. Maybe read it a bit before I return it. It is a fine series, after all, and I do need more practice with my English. I’m getting rusty.”

He bowed and used a smoke grenade so he’d appear to disappear. After he was out of sight, he slipped down into the crowd, making sure his Kaitou outfit was hidden and his black cap on.

Hakuba always loved a good heist, but even he had to roll his eyes at Kid’s speech. After all, the thief could have just snuck into his bedroom at any point and borrowed his copy of the series! But, ah well, it was fun and a very good opportunity to break out his robes, school uniform, scarves, and facsimile wand.  This got some looks from those on the police force, but the young detective didn’t care. They were all very aware that he was a half-brit, and wore such tonight just as he did his superior-quality, completely detail-accurate  reproduction tie. That is to say, with pride.

But unlike the other detectives, Hakuba stood at the back of the crowd, only observing the movements of those within. He had a radio on him from the force, and listened to their coordinated efforts, simply smirking. With Hattori-san and Edogawa-kun already chasing after the elusive thief, what was the point of getting himself involved?

Besides, he had three more scarves to give out, and figured that it would be better for them to come to him instead of pointlessly going in after them.

All Too Proper || host-kyoya

The evening was fine. Late summer, warm from a long day in the sun, but cooling with every twinkling star that appeared as the sky grew darker. Guests meandered onto the balcony of the event’s venue, commenting on how lovely the garden was, how so very delectable the food, and of course, such a gracious host. Marion – wife of Superintendent General Hakuba – had made it a point to host as many as she possibly could while visiting from London, and this was to be the finest. After all, this event was not only to gather donations and sponsored funding for preserving an ancient forest (which was wonderful for PR!), but it was a chance to socialize with the truly high-class, highest end of society.

Unfortunately, this also meant that young Saguru, the sole child of the Hakuba family, had been brought out to ‘perform’ as expected. The detective, dressed accordingly in black coat and tails, waded through the crowd making small talk with those on the pre-arranged list that he had memorized in the week prior. This was common practice for such an event, to ensure that each felt known, welcomed, and wanted. And, with all of the practice that Hakuba had in this regard, he did as expected with ease and with grace. He was, after all, a host.

That said, Hakuba was dreadfully bored and dreadfully lonely. It wasn’t as easy to find proper company in Japan as it was home in England. In the sea of expensive taste, he easily stood out for his mixed heritage, and this was not a good thing. Still, he sought out any potential ‘conquests’ as he met with the guests, reassuring them that they were, in fact, just as important and wonderful as they believed that they were. The compliments were given sincerely enough; Hakuba genuinely liked most of the visitors there, at least reasonably so, but it was for wildly different reasons than what was expected.

Really, if Hakuba could just find someone close to his own age, his evening would be vastly improved. He scanned the crowd, searching. There were plenty of strong, powerful men there – many of which he knew had children – but he did not have confirmation of just who would attend.

Sighing, the detective went on to comb the perimeter of the ballroom, nodding politely, flashing that charming smile, and continued his hunt for someone truly interesting to talk to.
