“Really?.. Well…”

“I s’pose if you’re fluent ‘s well, there oughtn’t be any harm continuin’ in English, but y’owe me not ta’laugh.”

"I’m learnin’ Italian by book, ‘n by immersion. I find that th’best way t’really get a grasp ‘f how natives speak th’language is by watching their media, like tv shows ‘n interviews, or even th’news programs. Still, I’ve got a few books I’d be able t’lend ya, soon as y’feel like gettin’ started.”

”…Himura-kun… ah, Emi…“ The detective stared for a good moment before he shook his head, blinking. "Your… Your accent is simply enchanting, my dear miss Himura… I had no idea. I… Summer evenings spent next to sun-kissed peach trees and…"

"Miss Himura, did you come here to seduce me or are you just teasing this poor British boy?”

Set Appointment || a-princely-host

Ah, a host club. Hakuba had heard tale of these, but had never actually been to one until previously that day. It had been a pleasant interaction. He was greeted warmly by the self-proclaimed King, and successfully arranged for an appointment later that afternoon. Honestly, if the other hosts were as gracious as Suoh Tamaki, he could see no reason why someone would not want to spend afternoons there. Good, dignified company was so terribly hard to find and keep-  and the academy seemed littered with it.

As the young detective walked through the halls and back to that music room, he wondered why he hadn’t enrolled in Ouran Academy. His family certainly had the money and, as far as he was aware, the status. At least, the family name of Hakuba did. And perhaps that’s where the inherent problem was.

Yet, Suoh came from a mixed heritage too, didn’t he? And he seemed perfectly at home, nestled deep in the academy’s embrace. Perhaps there were many things that he could learn from the King.

The detective hesitated when he got to the music room at the appointed time, took a deep breath, and prepared himself for whatever awaited behind those doors.

Hakuba entered the Host Club – this time as an expected guest.

“Neeeh, you totally should, languages are just the best thing ever and they’re so beautiful, but you’ve certainly chosen one of my favorites as a third. French is just aaaaamaaaziiiing. I don’t know if it’s the most beautiful, I mean, there are some Arabic languages that are really stunning.”

image

"…Uh I th-think I’ll stick to Japanese with you though, my French accent leaves something to be desired, and I’m certain if you heard my English you’d just find me perfectly ridiculous.

Maybe you could learn Italian with me that’d be fun you totally should I’m still studying that.”

image

"Well, if you’re certain… though I can’t imagine your voice being anything but lovely, Himura-kun. As for Italian, I would love to take you up on that offer. How are you learning it? Classes at school? Private tutor? By book? Share your method and I will match and support.”

HAKUBA

How many languages do you speak.

image

“Only three fluently; English, Japanese, and French. I’ve picked up a moderate amount of Spanish (mostly because of its similarity to French, being one of the romance languages), but I’d eventually like to learn many more…”

image

“Incidentally… you’re more welcome to speak to me in French any time you’d like. I may even return it with sweet nothings in kind. French is the most beautiful spoken language, after all, and is best when used to accentuate that."

“ Pleasure to meet you Hakuba- san. I’d love to have tea with you. I actually have an opening this afternoon. Would you like to come down then?”

image

“ You know it’s rare to get boys to visit the club, it’s a pleasant change.”

image

“How unfortunate! I can’t imagine why more don’t stop by; everything that I’ve heard about your club has been enchanting… and you’ve been quite gracious thus far.” Hakuba nodded his head, offering a pleased and grateful smile. “This afternoon would be perfect, Suoh-san. Thank you for your time.”

Pictured here is the Super High School Level Detective Seducer Marshmallow Mother Hen

I love this roleplaying community. I cannot express the absolute pleasure it has been to write with all of you. No where else can I play a character like Hakuba (or Conan), whom I absolutely adore, with so many dedicated, talented writers of various fandoms.

I mean, I get to mingle with and explore ideas of literary wonder with other Conan fans (who have expanded my deep appreciation for the series/world like nothing else); solve mysteries and eat eclairs with Dangan Ronpa characters; flirt shamelessly with members of the Ouran High School Host Club; discuss theology and philosophy with fellow Sebastian enthusiasts of Black Butler; and interact with imaginative, well-rounded, simply adorable OCs of all types… And that’s really only the tip of the majestic, multi-fandom, crossover iceberg.

You’re all absolutely wonderful. Thank you for reading my posts, for commenting and sending in questions and your thoughts. Thank you for playing with me and for being eager to enjoy it with me.

And, most of all, thank you for being my friends. <3

“ Er- I always have time for my guests.”

“Thank you; that’s very much appreciated. Ah, allow me to introduce myself… my name is Hakuba Saguru, and I must confess that I’m not a student at Ouran Academy, but rather a high school detective… Nevertheless, my coming here is not on business… I really would just like to get to know the young man behind the enticing reputation, Suoh-san… Perhaps over tea?”
