He glared. “I thought you wanted to quit being a detective to become a host. This way you can be both. Right?” And stay?
“…you really want me to stay that badly, Kuroba-kun?”
He glared. “I thought you wanted to quit being a detective to become a host. This way you can be both. Right?” And stay?
“…you really want me to stay that badly, Kuroba-kun?”
((I swear I’ll start working on replies soon… sorry, today was really tough and it’s been difficult to get into the right mindset.))
He grinned. “Probably! I could even draft a few others to join. And Akako’s pretty popular with the ladies too. It might be less awkward if she were made into a host instead of just a customer. Hm, but then she’d be around all the time…”
“I think you might underestimate just how much I’d like to avoid Koizumi-san… then again, perhaps being forced to work together would end up being advantageous…”
“Wait.. no, Kuroba-kun, we can’t have a host club. I don’t have time for that. Not if I’m to stay a detective…"
“That, among other things. Also if you want to be a host, maybe you can start up your own club here in this school.”
"A… host club at our high school? I’m not certain that it’s, ah, the right kind of audience… besides, Koizumi-san would probably visit and be unceasingly passive aggressive about it, which would be rather annoying.” He paused. “That said, you would likewise make an excellent host, I think.”
“Maybe it would, maybe it wouldn’t. I’m willing to bet on the latter. Also, I, uh, I’d like you where I can keep an eye on you, you know.”
“Worried that I’ll nearly let myself get killed again? That only happens after school hours, you realize…”
“Wh-what? You can’t simply transfer like that! I still want you here!”
"You sure about that, Kuroba-kun? Wouldn’t… wouldn’t your life be a lot easier without me in it?”
“What happened?”
“Ah, just… feedback lately, among other things. Perhaps I would be better suited for entertaining than… trying to help people, since they don’t want or need me anyway. Don’t worry, though, Amuro-san… I’ll still be at the country club on the weekends…”
“That’s it… I’m quitting Detective Conan/Magic Kaito and joining Ouran Academy to be in the host club.”
“You can’t blame the snakes that you take to bed when one of them bites you."
He knew the answer. It had come to mind immediately. But, no. The possibility of betrayal was very real, but he wasn’t about to cast the first stone. Until it happened, he would hope.
“I believe you’re mistaken, anonymous…”
