Drug Busts and Corpses || detectivephiliac

Good. Although he was relatively certain that he could handle the case on his own, Hakuba knew that it was always, always wiser to take someone with you. For some reason, having a plus one when dealing with drug-related cases often made the difference between being able to talk things out and having to deal with physical violence.

When Kyouko arrived, Hakuba was putting his field bag of medical supplies into the trunk of his car, which he’d pulled out to the front of his house. He waved at her, offering a pleasant smile and a nod of his head.

“Ah, Kirigiri-san! I’m so pleased that you were available and willing to come with me. I’m hoping that it won’t take too terribly long, and of course you’ll be compensated for your time and efforts. How have you been?”

It’d been a while since they last spoke regarding Hattori and his… situation, but he hoped that they could develop a professional relationship outside of that, as well. Especially as things with the Osakan could get, ah, decidedly messy.

Dear People Who Play Canon Characters,

the-supremeking:

a11onsy-a10nso:

• Just because I am already interacting with another version of your character, doesn’t mean I can’t interact with you as well.

• It’s fun to see how different people play different characters.

• Let me see how you play yours.

• The more the merrier

• Do not be afraid

  • I even want to play with other versions of myself
  • I had fun playing with other versions of myself, I would do it again

Why I never RP with you: A short list

antheaandconcordia:

1. I have a crippling fear that if I show up in your ask box I’ll be annoying you.

2. I have a crippling fear we’ll start RPing and you’ll decide I’m boring.

3. Your talent is probably intimidating and I’m scared of not measuring up.

4. I see your open starters but either A) can’t for the life of me think of a response or B) am afraid if I answer you’ll be disappointed that it’s not someone else

5. Maybe we’ve RP’d before but you dropped the threads so now I’m convinced you hate RPing with me and I don’t want to pursue the subject

6. I was Rping with you but dropped the thread because I either missed your reply or couldn’t think of where I wanted to go with it and thought it was better it died rather than give you subpar replies.

7. I was RPing with you but you dropped the thread for some reason and I’m terrified you got bored with it and don’t want to push the subject

8.  I cannot for the life of me figure out how our characters would meet/have excuse to interact.

9.  You RP with what seem to be a small circle of people and I feel as though I would be unwelcome.

10.  I sit in your askbox and can never come up with anything that doesn’t sound stupid after I write it, freak out and resume lurking as normal

((also I may not know that you want to oops))

Kaitou stiffened, fingers twitching and hand lifting just the slightest of an inch, as if about to reach out and grab the detective, to keep him from falling. But, upon noting that he was alright, he hid the movement with a casual shrug of his shoulders and a lighthearted, amused snicker.

He hadn’t quite expected Hakuba to get that startled.

“I might tend to pass by from time to time,” the thief answered, lips tugging into a smile as he moved closer – past the bed and across the carpet, stopping only when he was less than a foot away from the blonde. His smile stretched wider. “I see you’ve been taking good care of them.”

He tilted his head, briefly motioning towards the vase or, more specifically, the roses it was holding. “Did you like them?”

Where the detective had faltered, the thief picked up the slack. Kid’s unending confidence garnered an appreciative smirk as the Hakuba gradually relaxed, hands pressed against the bench on either side of him.  For once, Hakuba looked up at the thief instead of the other way around.

With a turn of his head, Hakuba glanced to the vase, expression immediately softening. “Ah… yes, I did. I do. Love them, I mean. Very, very much so. Thank you, Kaitou-san.” The confession came with an embarrassed laugh; soft, short, shoulder shrugging. “The, ah, other gifts, too… God, I was hoping that it was you. For a number of reasons."

The dove still sat nestled in the detective’s pillows. The dragon now had a place on the fireplace mantle, next to the clock. Each of the hand-written notes had been safely stowed in his personal journal and lock-box.

"If I could ask… were… were you planning to go for a full dozen?”

“ Er- yes uh thank you.” He muttered before holding the tea pot and filling the rest of his tea. He was still in shock of just how rude he had been to his guest. He really needed to step it up- this man new what he was dealing with.

The detective watched his host fill the tea cup, gaze travelling from the stilling liquid up the uniformed arm and to Tamaki himself, hesitant.

“Is this… terribly uncomfortable for you, Suoh-sama?” Hakuba asked, brows knit in concern. “Really, it was not my intent to make your job more difficult. Could it be that you’re not used to entertaining guests such as myself? Male, I mean. Or is it the detective part? I promise I’m not a ‘bad cop’ type.”

The half-Brit considered for just a moment before continuing, lifting a hand to his chin. “I have heard that I’m rather intimidating… Some would even say that I’m… …unapproachable.” His glance shifted back to Tamaki’s face at that, furtively.
