“Ah. I’m not going to impose on you, Hakuba.” Kaito pulled out two mugs from the cupboard. “It would be fun. But, with how this curse is, I mostly transform at night and it’s been a while since the last time. Call it intuition, but I can tell it’s coming again soon.”
He poured the hot water into both, then stirred in the tea leaves. “I’m not going to make guarantees of if I can attend. And I am not going to stay around if I start feeling like I’m going to transform.”
Oh. Right. The lion.
Hakuba hesitated a moment to keep his composure and nodded. “I, ah, yes, I understand. Just, ah, know that you’re more than welcome to come by… and it would be nice to see you, but…” He shrugged. It was fine if Kaito couldn’t come. Not a big deal. Maybe. Probably.
He stepped closer, hesitant. “Can I help with anything? With tea or… or anything?"
