“Thanks!”
Taking the pizza boxes and the small bag containing their respective beverages, Kaito gave the delivery man a light, grateful grin, before moving to simply shove the door closed with his foot. He turned – though paused for a second in momentary surprise as he spotted the waiting detective – and then headed back down the hall and into the kitchen, motioning for Hakuba to follow.
“I already checked; your rootbeer’s in the bag, don’t worry. Told you I ordered it. You really need to learn how to trust me.”
A playful smirk was aimed the blonde’s way and then Kaito turned his attention back towards the pizza. Settling the boxes and bag on the table, he moved towards the cupboard to get plates and glasses. His mom would kill him if he stained the carpet – especially if it was with cheese. Or soda. Or anything at all.
“Right, trust you.” Hakuba sounded completely unconvinced by the notion, but playfully so as he followed after his classmate into the kitchen. “I’ll trust you when I have the rootbeer in my detective grasp. The truth – or soda – is in the pudding, so to speak.”
He watched, still helplessly, as the other boy gathered the necessities for dinner. “Ah, can I… do anything to assist you?"
