“It’s a western style house in the Beika district. 221 B.” He gave Hakuba the specifics of the street address. “Thank you, Hakuba-kun.”
Between the rifle business and the vampirism, it seemed as though things were going to get stranger yet. Regardless, he had a cold and calculating part of his mind that was grateful for such easy prey to be coming to him instead of him running about the city at night and risking exposure.
Naturally, he tried shaking that out of his mind. All the same, he knew he’d need to feed at some point, lest he turn feral and go out killing or die due to lack of sustenance.
Hakuba took the address down in his little black notebook, using the briefcase as a stable surface, then climbed into the car. “Of course. I’ll be there as soon as I can."
He hung up the phone then took a look at the address again, frowning a moment. Wait… that address…
The detective plugged it into his GPS and frowned at the results. That was definitely the Kudou residence. Why was Subaru-san there? Did this have something to do with Kudou-san? Hm. Concerned – and admittedly very a little excited – Hakuba took to the roads in haste to uncover the mysteries of his Sensei and Senpai.
Fortunately, as his client had been in the Tokyo area already, it wasn’t more than twenty minutes (with traffic) before he arrived at the gate in front of the house that he’d driven past so many times before. He glanced at his notebook – yes, this was, indeed, the correct address. somehow – and pulled the car into the side drive, and putting the car into park.
Taking his briefcase with him, the young detective let himself out of the car, attempting as best as he could to not appear too eager about the situation. Now, was he supposed to go around to the front of the house, or…?
