The thief managed to hold back a laugh of his own at the other turning away. Colours might not be well seen at night, but it’s hard to ignore a darkening face.
“Hadn’t been planning on it,” he answered, shrugging slightly, “Just wanted to check in with you. But it’s not like I have any particular reason to have to leave either, so if you wanted me to… I wouldn’t mind staying.”
He tilted his head and grinned, tone becoming more teasing.
“Just so long as you wouldn’t try to catch me while I’m here, tantei-san.~”
“Well…” Hakuba said, laughing with wincing smile. “Considering that I find myself to be quite naked, I can’t imagine where I’d be handing handcuffs; I do believe that you’re safe, Kaitou-san."
He cleared his throat with a tiny cough into his fist, and glanced to his closet. "Though, if… if you do wish to stay- and it would be welcomed, I assure you -I should really get dressed. I wouldn’t want to make things any more awkward than they already are. And, incidentally…” He turned back to him, biting his lower lip hopefully. “…if you could avoid mentioning this little incident, I would… appreciate it."
