His voice was dripping with sarcasm. If that wasn’t enough of an answer in and of itself, the small tilt of a mocking grin might be.
"I’ll take that as a yes, then,” the teenager said with a tilt of his head. He wanted to challenge the assassin, rile him, get him to recognize that he was, in fact, a threat. Or, at the very least, not afraid of him.

The detective shrugged, turning his back to the other with a derisive laugh, flippant and perhaps a touch overly confident. “You might be the Spider, but even spiders are prey… and sometimes detectives like to let their prey run free for a while. It makes the hunt all that more… interesting.”
