musing-asylum:

Alice nodded. ” sure ” She tried to recall the questions the detective asked her and her answers. She didn’t want to incriminate herself any more by giving extra information.

” My name is Alice. I came to Japan to visit some relatives of mine.” So far she was telling the truth. ” I called the police yesterday as an anonymous informer. I told them about the location of six buried corpses.” She subconsciously told him an extra information. She didn’t inform them of the number of corpses in the previous statement. Her inner desire to help was taking over her subconscious. She didn’t seem to notice her tongue slip.

” They tracked me down and brought me for questioning. Apparently, the corpses were killed same way as some other cases they were working on. It seems to be work of a serial killer.” That was what she understood from the detective so far.

” As for my acquaintance I can’t real reveal their identity. anything else I could help you with?” It was almost midnight and she needed to get some sleep.

He would have to go over the file more in depth later, but so far, it seemed like an interesting case. Serial killers often were. “Any information that you can supply would be of great help, Miss Alice…

"So, tell me; was it your acquaintance that told you about the bodies, or did you discover them yourself? Precisely how did you come to find yourself in the position to call? Was there something about the bodies, their locations, or otherwise… that led you to believe that something was amiss, and that they weren’t simply poorly buried?"
