They don\u2019t tag it or have a tag for it.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t have an art blog for it.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t link their work.<\/li>\n<li>Delete their work like, two hours later.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t have links on their blog for the places their work can be seen.<\/li>\n<li>Post at like 3am and only post it to tumblr where it becomes lost in the void.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I hate to tell you this but the reason no one cares? Is because <i>barely anyone is seeing it.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>You are basically making art and then cramming it in a drawer and wondering why people don\u2019t come into your room and just <i>know<\/i> you\u2019re an artist.<\/p>\n<p>And <b>it\u2019s easy to fix.<\/b> It might not get you thousands of new followers but with time? It can up your chances of people actually seeing the shit you make.<\/p>\n<p><b>How to fix it:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>I should NOT have to say this. I really shouldn\u2019t. But post your work? <b>POST YOUR WORK.<\/b> POST. YOUR. WORK. I don\u2019t care if it\u2019s an afternoon scribble or a 6 month long labor of love. POST IT.<\/li>\n<li>And post it often (if you can of course. This is one I\u2019m lenient on cause ya\u2019ll obviously have lives outside of Tumblr.)<\/li>\n<li>Make an art blog.<\/li>\n<li>Link said art blog on your main blog as a link in you sidebar and header <b>where it can be seen<\/b>. Most people won\u2019t take the time to go hunt for your art blog if you just post the link and never mention it again. Make that shit AVAILABLE.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>\n<b>Share that art blog with people.<\/b> Do you have a Deviantart? Link the art blog! Do you have a Twitter? Link the art blog! That way your followers know, consistently, that it\u2019s you on all of those accounts and not just someone that shares your username!<\/li>\n<li>If you don\u2019t make an art blog? <b>Have a tag for your art and link that sucker in your header\/sidebar.<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Reblog art from your art blog to your main blog. No, you\u2019re not bothering anyone. You are advertising. If some of your followers got an issue with that? Then they\u2019re not respecting you or your work.<\/li>\n<li>\n<b>TAG. YOUR. WORK.<\/b> The first five tags count and your work will show up in those tags. Choose wisely.<\/li>\n<li>\n<b>Don\u2019t delete because you\u2019ve not gotten a lot of notes. Don\u2019t quit on yourself like that. <\/b>Okay, look, I made a post 2 years ago that recently skyrocketed to 15k notes. Sometimes the right person just hasn\u2019t seen it yet. Leave that shit up!<\/li>\n<li>Posting at 3am? Worried no one will see it? <b>Schedule that shit to post later!<\/b>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<b>Don\u2019t constantly check for notes.<\/b> That will drive you crazy. Do other stuff, have a drink, walk your dog, draw more stuff, whatever you want to do. Come back and check it later on.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Don\u2019t let yourself be the reason you work is not seen!<\/b> Get out of your own way! Work to give your art it\u2019s own spotlight so people can find it instead of burying it in a sea of memes and cute animal posts.<\/p>\n<p>Because trust me, as someone that regularly goes looking at the blogs of people who make these claims? <i>It\u2019s really frustrating when I see you bitchin but I can\u2019t find your work anywhere.<\/i> I WANT to give you a spotlight. I WANT to share what you\u2019re making.
