AMC Entertainment\u2019s new CEO Adam Aron wants to appeal to more to millennials by letting them use their phones in theaters<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you tell a 22-year-old to turn off the phone, don\u2019t ruin the movie, they hear \u2018please cut off your left arm above the elbow,\u2019\u201d Aron tells Variety<\/i><\/a>. \u201cYou can\u2019t tell a 22-year-old to turn off their cellphone. That\u2019s not how they live their life.\u201d Aron believes that AMC needs \u201cto reshape our product in some concrete ways so that millennials go to movie theaters with the same degree of intensity as baby boomers went to movie theaters throughout their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

The CEO is aware that his company is \u201cgoing to have to figure out a way to do it that doesn\u2019t disturb today\u2019s audiences.\u201d When asked whether there might be certain sections that allow texting, Aron replies \u201cThat\u2019s one possibility. What may be more likely is we take specific auditoriums and make them more texting-friendly.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

9 times outta 10 22 year olds are the one shushing people or tellin them to shut the fuck up<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

How to get millennials to go to the movies more:<\/p>\n

1) Retire so we can actually achieve career-level jobs and have some extra cash to go to the movies, AND\/OR<\/p>\n

2) Pay us a livable minimum wage so we have enough to live on and maybe have some extra cash to go to the movies.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

3) Create movies that aren\u2019t all about cis, straight, white people.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
