It\u2019s not a scar, it\u2019s just a marking that would not normally occur in actual animals. At least, not asymmetrically like that.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"tmblr-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/66.media.tumblr.com\/586fcda4b8f773045e55844e1374b25e\/tumblr_inline_nyenqi8L0t1qfmj9k_540.jpg\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>It IS a reference, though, as most of the designs in Dangerous Cute are&hellip; and no, it\u2019s not the Nike swoosh, it\u2019s actually the scar on Ashitaka\u2019s cheek from Princess Mononoke. Ashitaka is one of my favorite characters of all time&hellip; I wish I was as badass and as good a person as he is.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"tmblr-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/66.media.tumblr.com\/7aa1486ff238459be704d54a03cd33b6\/tumblr_inline_nyenvokg0H1qfmj9k_540.jpg\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>This is also not the first time that I\u2019ve used that scar as a symbol in character design, either&hellip; Back when I roleplayed on Pokemorph MUSH all the time, I had a character named Laura who was a reverse-morph Sandshrew, and had a similar scar.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/66.media.tumblr.com\/515a2e0402f4bb583d1c4b1edd2e77fd\/tumblr_inline_nyeoa1slrA1qfmj9k_540.jpg\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>She was fun to play and had, of course, a super angsty backstory&hellip; I\u2019ve since recycled her for use (as her original human self) in other stories; notably as one of Bunny\u2019s cabin mates in my current novel, <i>The Champions of Summer.<\/i>\u00a0She also shows up as a minor character in the garbage aLDfM project. She does not, incidentally, reflect the ideals and personality of Ashitaka.
